OBJETIVES Identify the main business motivations, which can be positive (pull) and / or negative (push), to propose a typology of entrepreneurs, where each category will be characterized by a combination of motivations . Define the criteria that constitute the management model of family SMEs.
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY DESIGN : Descriptive and causal conclusive study. Quantitative typology. Use of primary data. Survey as a method of data collection. Non-probabilistic sampling, defined by the investigator. Finite population: 147 companies nationwide.

FIELD WORK Guayaquil: 20 students, 5 surveys, each one carried out on a geo-referenced site. Other cities: 4 students, 2 in the morning and 2 in the afternoon to conduct surveys by phone or email.
