PHALAENOPSIS
ORCHID
Care & Cultivation Guide
Graceful elegant timeless adored for butterfly-like
blooms that captivate everyone, easy to love and grow,
bringing beauty into homes daily.

Meet Phalaenopsis Orchid
Native to tropical Asia, these stunning orchids have
become beloved houseplants around the world.
Known as the “Moth Orchid,” they earned this
graceful name because their elegant blooms
resemble fluttering moths in flight. Their flowers
can last for months with minimal care, making
them an ideal choice for beginners and experienced
plant lovers alike. These orchids thrive indoors,
brightening any room with their vibrant colors and
delicate appearance. Perfect indoor companions,
they add beauty, freshness, and a touch of tropical
charm to homes and offices year-round.

The Secret to Their Glow
Light Makes the Magic!:- Proper light helps orchids grow strong
and beautifully, ensuring healthy roots, vibrant leaves, long-
lasting colorful blooms, continuous growth, overall plant strength,
and development always.
Bright, Indirect Light = Happy Orchid:- Keep your orchid where
the light is bright but never harsh on leaves to ensure healthy
growth and beautiful blooms, always supporting plant vitality.
Morning Sun? Yes:- Gentle morning light keeps orchids healthy,
but avoid harsh midday sun that burns delicate leaves and slows
growth, protecting their beauty and encouraging strong blooming
consistently.

Temperature & Air Flow
Orchids grow best in warm and pleasant
temperatures, ideally between 18°C and 30°C, where
they can stay comfortable throughout the day and
night. A stable warm environment encourages
stronger roots, fresh leaves, and beautiful flowers.
Cold drafts from windows, doors, or air conditioners
should be avoided because sudden drops in
temperature can shock the plant and interrupt its
growth cycle. Along with warmth, orchids also
benefit from gentle airflow that keeps the roots dry
and prevents fungus or rot. Proper ventilation helps
maintain healthy circulation around the plant,
creating the ideal balance for long-lasting, vibrant
orchids.

Watering Tips
Water once a week; allow the roots to dry slightly
between each watering so the plant can absorb
moisture properly and breathe through its root
system. Use lukewarm, non-chlorinated water
whenever possible because cold or harsh water can
stress the roots, slowing growth and weakening the
plant over time. Never let the roots sit in standing
water, as excess moisture will block oxygen and lead
to harmful root rot that can destroy the orchid
entirely if ignored. Ensure that the potting mix drains
well, and choose containers with proper ventilation so
water flows through easily. Check the plant frequently
and adjust watering whenever conditions change.

Food for Blooms
Fertilize every 2–3 weeks with a balanced 20-20-20
orchid fertilizer to keep your plant strong and
growing. During the warm growth season, increase
feeding slightly so your orchid has the energy to
develop new leaves, roots, and flowering spikes. In
the colder winter months, reduce how often you
fertilize because orchids naturally slow down and
need fewer nutrients. Always follow the trusted
orchid care rule: “Weakly, weekly.” That means apply
fertilizer often, but always dilute it to half or even
quarter strength to gently protect delicate roots and
avoid harmful buildup in the potting media.

Prune with Purpose
Trim old flower spikes after blooming to encourage fresh growth and healthier future blooms. Keep leaves
clean and shiny by gently wiping away dust, helping the plant absorb more light. Spot pests early — prevention
saves beauty and protects your orchid from damage. Regular care and attention ensure strong plants, vibrant
flowers, and long-lasting elegance in your home.

Common Mood Swings
Yellow leaves:- Too much water can harm orchids,
causing yellow leaves, root rot, and weak growth.
Always allow the potting media to dry slightly before
watering again.
No flowers:- Not enough light can prevent orchids
from producing beautiful blooms, weaken their growth,
reduce leaf health, and limit the plant’s overall ability
to thrive indoors.
Wrinkled leaves:- Low humidity stresses orchids,
causing wrinkled leaves, slow growth, and reduced
flowering. Maintain moisture in the air using trays,
misting, humidifiers, and proper ventilation daily.

Grow a New Life
Keikis are small, new orchids that emerge from a plant’s stem, growing slowly as they form their own leaves
and roots. Be patient and wait until the roots reach about 2–3 inches before separating and placing them into
a fresh pot. With consistent care and the right environment, these young orchids will eventually reward you
with beautiful blooms of their own.

Display with Style
Use glass bowls, hanging pots, or ceramic planters to
display orchids in a stylish and modern way that
complements their natural elegance. Choose
containers that offer both beauty and airflow,
helping the orchids thrive while adding a
sophisticated touch to your décor. Keep everything
elegant—orchids love space, minimal clutter, and
simplicity around their roots and leaves, which
allows them to grow gracefully without feeling
crowded. Even a single bloom can light up an entire
room, bringing freshness, colour, and tranquillity
wherever it is placed, making orchids a true
centrepiece of natural beauty indoors.

Bloom Beyond Beauty
Caring for Phalaenopsis isn’t just gardening — it’s therapy, art,
and patience combined. When you take the time to understand
their needs, you connect with nature in a peaceful and
rewarding way. Each leaf and root tells you a story about
growth, resilience, and beauty. With gentle watering, the right
light, and a little hope, these orchids reward you by blooming
again and again, reminding you that care, love, and consistency
create something extraordinary every season of life.
