INTRODUCTION Asian Games Is A Multi Sport Event Held Every Four Years It Features Atletes From Various Asian Countries, It’s Like A Olympic For Asian Countries Asian Games have a rich history and hold great significance as a multi sport event in Asia.They were first held in 1951 and have been held every four years since then, except for a few exceptions.The games bring together athletes from different Asian countries to compete in a wide range of sports.It promote unity, friendship,and sportsmanship among nations in the region.The Asian Games also provide a platform for athelets to showcase their skills and represent their countries with pride.It’s an exciting event that brings people together and celebrate the spirit of sports!
History Of Asian Games The Asian Games have a rich history! They were first held in 1951 in New Delhi, India. The idea behind the Games was to bring together athletes from Asian countries and promote unity and friendship through sports. Since then, the Games have been held every four years, with various Asian countries taking turns to host the event. It has become a significant multi-sport event in Asia, showcasing the talents of athletes from across the region. The Asian Games symbolize the spirit of competition, camaraderie, and cultural exchange among Asian nations. It’s truly a remarkable event! India has hosted the Asian Games the most number of times. They have hosted the Games in four different cities: New Delhi in 1951 and 1982, Calcutta (now Kolkata) in 1982, and Hyderabad in 2002. India has played a significant role in the history of the Asian Games and has provided memorable moments for athletes and spectators alike.
Host Cities The 19 th Asian Games in Hangzhou were held across 54 venues from September 23 to October 8, 2023.
India And Asian Games With an unprecedented haul of 107 medals that included 28 gold, 38 silvers and 41 bronze medals, India set a new benchmark for themselves at the Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou, the People’s Republic of China.
It was the first time in Asian Games history that India’s medals tally crossed the three-figure mark. By doing so, they became the only fourth country after China, Japan and the Republic of Korea to win 100 or more medals in a single edition of the Asian Games.
India sent 655 athletes to compete in 41 disciplines at the Asian Games 2023 held from September 19 to October 8. It was India’s largest representation at the Asian Games in the 19 editions held so far.
Cricket In Asian Games 2023 The men’s cricket tournament at the Asian Games 2023 runs was played from September 27 to October 7. The Zhejiang University of Technology Pingfeng Cricket Field in Hangzhou, the People’s Republic of China hosted all the matches.
Hangzhou 2023 also marked cricket’s return to the Asian Games programme after nine years. After featuring at Guangzhou 2010 and Incheon 2014, the sport was dropped from the 2018 edition in Jakarta.
Like in 2010 and 2014, cricket at the Asian Games 2023 is being played in the T20 format.
India were crowned champions by virtue of their global T20 ranking after the final against Afghanistan was called off due to rain. Afghanistan won their third silver medal on the trot, while Bangladesh defeated Pakistan to win the bronze medal

Upcoming Asian Games The 2026 Asian Games will be co-hosted by the Aichi Prefecture and the city of Nagoya in Japan.
