Playwayisquitedifferentfromthenormal
meaningoftheword“play’whichisconsidered
asaformofphysicalactivity.
Playwayontheotherhandisameansof
cognitiveandaffectivedevelopmentofthechild
i.e.,developmentofintellect,skillsandfeelings.

Playwaymethodwasdevelopedby
CaldwellCook.Hebelievedthat
proficiencyandlearningcomenot
fromreadingandlisteningbutfrom
actions,fromdoingandfrom
experiences.HeregardedPlayasa
meansoftrainingofindividualsanda
wonderfultechniqueofmaking
schooleducationinterestingand
practical.
