PROJECT ON PLC BASED THREE FLOOR ELEVATOR

Department Of Electrical Engineerng Presented By:- SHIVAM KUMAR CHAUHAN 171100034(42) Project Guide:- Mr. Sachin Goyal Asst. prof. , GLAU

ABSTRACT : In this project elevator is controlled by PLC. We made the hardware of three floor elevator and this elevator is operated by Servo motor. PLC gives the command to servo drive. Servo drive will operate the servo motor to the desired floor. Three LEDs are placed at each floor to indicate the cabin position.

Programmable logic controller A programmable logic controller (PLC) or programmable controller is a digital computer used for automation of electromechanical processes, such as control of machinery on factory assembly lines, amusement rides, or light fixtures.

I/O MODULE In a PLC system there will usually be dedicated modules for inputs and dedicated modules for outputs. An input module detects the status of input signals such as push-buttons, switches, temperature sensors, etc..

Servo Motor with drive : A servo drive receives a command signal from a control system, amplifies the signal, and transmits electric current to a servo motor in order to produce motion proportional to the command signal. Typically, the command signal represents a desired velocity, but can also represent a desired torque or position.

Ladder program :

Ladder Description : Start to turn ON the motor and Stop to turn OFF the motor When Start button is preessed motion axes fault will reset. When Stop button is preessed motion servo will OFF . Once the Start button is preessed motion servo will ON

Initially, ground floor is set to be home position if someone pressed button from Ground floor then cabin will reached there if someone pressed button from First floor then cabin will reached there if someone pressed button from Second floor then cabin will reached there

Once motion axes move is high , then servomotor will rotate the shaft according to the desired floor destination LED indicate cabit is at Ground floor LED indicate cabit is at Second floor LED indicate cabit is at First floor End Rung
