Impact of the Course on my Teaching and Beliefs on Teaching
The course had a significant impact on both my teaching practice and my teaching
beliefs. It has made it possible for me to embrace new teaching strategies that are more
successful in ensuring that I provide my students with the best possible learning environment
while also instilling information in them. Effective teaching approaches are essential for creating
a positive and engaging learning environment for students. Effective teaching methods increase a
teacher's ability to engage and keep students' attention, promote comprehension and retention of
the content covered in the lesson, and motivate learners to participate actively in their education.
A positive classroom environment and improved academic results can result from using effective
teaching methods to build a relationship of trust and respect between teachers and students
(CohenMiller, Shamatov & Merril, 2018). The training has enabled me to adopt these effective
tactics by teaching me how to use clear and concise language to convey topics to students, as
well as the value of utilizing concrete examples to clarify abstract concepts. Other strategies,
such as increasing student engagement in activities such as talks, group work, and hands-on
projects, have also been shown to be helpful.
Furthermore, the course has impacted my teaching by providing new information and
insights concerning teaching practice. New ideas and information are crucial in teaching because
they may help teachers stay current and productive in their field (Muijs & Reynolds, 2017).
Teachers may enhance their teaching abilities and better meet the needs of their students by
always studying and being up to speed with new research and best practices in education. The
course has introduced new theories, research, and best practices in education, which can help
them to develop a deeper understanding of teaching and learning and become more effective
teachers. Through the course material, I have gained knowledge on a wide range of subjects that

are pertinent to teaching and learning, including educational theories, instructional practices,
assessment and evaluation, and the use of technology in the classroom. This new information can
assist students in developing a better grasp of teaching and learning as well as becoming more
successful teachers.
Finally, the course topics have been useful in my teaching since they encourage
introspection and self-evaluation. Students are required to reflect on their teaching techniques
and beliefs as part of the course, which can help them become more self-aware and discover
opportunities for development and improvement. Reflection and self-evaluation are crucial in
teaching because they help instructors improve their practice and become more effective
educators (Ivanova, I., & Skara-Minclne, 2016). Teachers can develop a better knowledge of
their motivations, abilities, and areas for progress by reflecting on their experiences and
considering the diverse viewpoints and interpretations of those events. They may also be more
open to new ideas and techniques, as well as more inclined to update their knowledge of teaching
and learning in light of new data and insights. Self-evaluation is a crucial aspect of the reflection
process since it entails assessing one's teaching performance and soliciting feedback from others
to discover areas for development and improvement. This can be accomplished in a variety of
ways, including maintaining a teaching diary, soliciting feedback from peers or supervisors, and
engaging in self-assessment exercises.
My reason for teaching can best be epitomized through a quote from Martin Luther King
Jr which says, "The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think
critically. Intelligence plus character - that is the goal of true education." This quote emphasizes
the importance of education as a means of assisting students in developing critical thinking
abilities and becoming well-rounded persons capable of making informed decisions and making

significant contributions to the world. Educators may help students succeed in their academic
and professional careers, as well as make meaningful contributions to society, by educating them
to think deeply and critically.
