Egg production
In egg producing farms day old chicks are purchased from
specialized hateries that produce egg producing pullets.
These pullets are either raised by the egg producer or a
pullet grower until they are ready to start laying eggs
which is usually at 19 weeksof age.
The egg production cycle lasts for 1 year.

System Adopted in KKCR Farm
Deep litter system :
1. Birds are kept inside the house all the time.
2. Arrangement for feed, water,nestare made inside the house.
3. The birds are kept on suitable litter material spread on the floor of about 3-5
inches of depth.
4. This arrangement saves labourinvolved frequent cleaning of feacalmatter.
Advantages:
1. Vitamin B12 and Vitamin B2 are made available.
2. Welfare of the bird is maintaimed.
3. Deep litter manure is a useful fertilizer.
4. Lesser nuisance from flies.
Disadvantages:
1. Bacterial parasite made a problem.
2. Respiratory problem may emerge.
3. False in ventilation.

Poultry Management
Feed management:
1. Feed costs have a major impact on the profitability.
2. High cost of feed is related to energy and protien

recovered from the bill at the prevailing market rates.
2.Broliersmarketing was managed by whosalelifter for
both contract and independent farms.
3.Profit per kg body weight are comparable to contract
farms.

varies 60 to 300.
