2. POWER CAR It is basically combination of Diesel Engine and A lternator set used for the generation of electrical power in LHB type train viz. Rajdhani Express , Shatabdi Express and Garib R ath Express trains. E lectrical power produced in this way is also called as End on Generation (EOG) type.

10. ELECTRONIC GOVERNOR Electronic governor is responsible for the maintaining rpm under variable load condition and is operated on 24 v de supply with throttle motor ELECTRONIC GOVERNOR

11. Diesel tanks Diesel tanks each of 1540 litres of capacity is used for diesel engines for generation of electrical power

12. Starter motor Diesel engine is equipped With starer motor works on 24 v dc supplyand associated Accessory like starter Solenoid , fuel start Solenoid.

13. OIL METERS OIL METER 2 OIL METER 1 Fuel consumption meter are provide for monitoring the fuel oil consumption. Its working shall be monitored during 6 months field trial

14. OIL PUMP Oil pump is used for Delivering oil to the Engine. It works on 24 v dc supply

17. WATER PIPES OF ENGINE FOR COOLING AND RADIATOR Red pipe meant for taking hot water to the radiator Blue pipe meant for taking cold water to the engine for cooling it that comes at low temperature from radiator Radiator use 40 horse power squirrel cage induction motor .

18. Low level water indicator Low level water indicator is used in radiator to check the level of water in it.if water level decreases to certain level then engine will stop.

19. Vaccume failure release Vaccume failure release. If the supply of air to engine decreases to lower value than required that it will active and stop the engine

21. AIR CLEANER Air cleaner is used for supplying air to engine resposible for combustion .It cleaning should be done after every six month

22. Starter battery charger Starter battery charger is used for charging 24 V batteries used for starting engines. Each battery is charged at a time and a change over switch is used for charging each battery.

23. Lead acid batteries A 12 cells ( 3monoblocks each comprising of 4 cells ) lead acid battery of capacity 290AH is provided to feed power to starting motor of the engine for cranking one engine at a time by means of change over switch.The battery is suitable for high discharging current

24. Vrla battery Valve regulator lead acid battery of 110 v,90 AH is used for coach load

25. Turbo charger A  turbocharger , or  turbo is a turbine-driven forced induction device that increases an engine's efficiency and power by forcing extra air into the combustion chamber…..

26. transformer Three 3 phase transformers are used in power car 1 for coach load Other 2 each for two ventilator fans and radiator of each diesel alternator set. Each transformer is of 60 KVA and of STAR STAR connection.

27. Ventilator fans Ventilator fan 5 KW motor is use for fan used in ventilation system DOL starter is used for its operation Each section of diesel alternator set have two ventilator fans

32. LOAD TEST APPARATUS Induction motor of 1 HP for lifting copper plates up and down for variation of load Three phase load consist of copper that are dipped inside salted water for inresing load and lifted up for decreaing load

33. Load test in progress Load test of power car is to check the efficiency of it at different loading condition. The duration of test is of 3 hours . The fuel consumption at full load is 70 litres and the fuel consumption at no load is about 40 litres
