2. OVERVIEW OF MAHARANA PRATAP SINGH Born in 9 may 1540 at kumbhalgarh. Father uday singh and mother maharani jaivanta bai. Pratap singh has three brother and two sister. Also known as lion of mewar.

3. EARLY DAYS Mother maharani jaivanta bai is not only his mother but also his first guru Since childhood he has a great leadership qualities because in his childhood day when he used to play with his mates he would become the leader of them and decide their role and gole. At that time only maharana pratap completed the army training .

4. SISODIYA VANSH Many brave warrior like Bappa Rawal , Rana Hamir , Rana Sang were born in sisodiya family of mewar and were given the title of ‘Rana’ but the title of maharana was only bestowed on pratap singh. Self respect and virtuous behaviour were the main qualities of pratap singh. He was more interested in learning the wield weapons.

5. CORONATION During maharana pratap singh’s time akbar was the mughal ruler in delhi. Akbar uses the strength of hindu kings to bring other hindu kings under his control. Uday singh appointed before his death , jagammal , although pratap singh was elder to jagammal but he ready to give up his rights to jagammal and go away from mewar but chieftains was not agree with kings decision .

6. CORONATION Beside they were on the opinion jagammal does not possess qualities which are essential to king or leader. Hence jagammal has to sacrifice the throne. Hereby the population of mewar has accepted maharana pratap singh as a king of mewar.

7. UNBREAKABLE OATH TO FREE THE MOTHERLAND Shakti singh and jagammal the two brother of pratap singh had joined the Akbar. The first problem is to gather vast soldiers . Maharana pratap however does not loses hope nor did he ever say that he was as compared to akbar

8. OATH He only concern to free his motherland from clutches of mughals He promised that till chittod is freed I will not have food on gold and silver plates , will not sleep on soft bed , will not stay in palace Instead I will eat food on leaf platter , sleep on floor and stay in hut.

9. WHY AKBAR WANT MEWAR Whatever the import and export of a product is done will be passing through mewar. And in mewar there is a maharana pratap who is huge barrier for akbar.

10. PROPOSAL FROM AKBAR TO MAHARANA PRATAP SINGH Akbar used send proposal through hindu kings . There are total eight proposal to maharana pratap to get alliance with akbar. Infact one of the proposal offered a 50% india just to leave mewar for akbar.

11. BATTLE OF HALDIGHATI Akbar became angry as no compromise could be arrived at with maharana pratap and declared a war. Pratap singh also started preparation. Maharana pratap recruited tribal people and people dwelling in forest in his army.

12. BATTLE OF HALDIGHATI Maharana pratap army of 22000 soldiers met with 2,00,000 soldiers of akbar. Soldier of maharana pratap are at peak of the hills and at the bottom of the valleys to cover the entire field. Behlol khan who is the chief commander of akbar is also chopped into two pieces along with his horse by maharana pratap.

13. CHETAK Chetak was a loyal horse of maharana pratap. Chetak was seriously injured in the battle of haldighati but to save his master life , it jumped over a big canal which is of 28 feet. After jumping over the big canal chetak lost his life The strong maharana cried like a child over the death of his faithful horse.

14. CHETAK Later he constructed a beautiful garden where chetak had its last breath.

15. RAMPRASAD Ramprasad is a brave and genuine elephant of pratap singh. Ramprasad itself kill the 5 elephant of akbar in haldighati. Anyhow akbar tie up ramprasad and took him in his palace and named it peer. But ramprasad renunciate the water and food offered by akbar and died in 28 days.

16. RE ATTACKED BY AKBAR Akbar re attack after 6 month of battle , akbar could not defeat maharana pratap and went back to delhi. As a last resort , akbar sent another great warrior general jagannath int the year 1584 with a huge army to mewar but after trying relentlessly for two years, even he could not catch rana pratap.

17. FINAL PHASE While hunting maharana pratap met with serious accident and injured so extensively. With that accident maharana pratap died .
