TOP LEVEL MANAGEMENT : It consists of board of directions (BOD),chief executive, managing director, general manager, president, chairman-cum-managing director. FUNCTIONS To analyses, evaluate and deal with environment forces. To establish long term goals, policies and budget. To appoint departmental and key executives. To represent company to outside world. To control company operations. To coordination activities and efforts of departments.
INTERMEDIATE LEVEL MANAGEMENT : It consists of upper level, departmental, divisional heads. Example: works manager, marketing manager, personnel manager and finance manager. Each one of them responsible for efficient coordination and functioning of their own department.
MIDDLE MANAGEMENT … : It consists of deputy heads and sectional officer such as plant Manager, area sales manager, branch manager, chief accountant, purchase officer etc.. FUNCTIONS To interpret and explain the polices framed by top and intermediate management To compile and issue detailed instructions regarding operations. To cooperate among themselves. Motivate supervisory personnel. Develop and train supervisory and operative personnel.
S UPERVSISORY OR OPERATING MANAGEMENT : It consists of lowest level management, Plant superintendent, foreman, frontline supervisors, sales officers etc.. FUNCTIONS To plan day to day operations. Assign jobs. Supervise and control workers. Arrange materials and tools. Advice and assist workers. Maintain discipline and good human relations .
