Research Title # 1: LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE IN FINANCIAL LITERACY OF STUDENTS

Chapter 1 INTRODUCTION Financial Literacy is a crucial topic for consumers and in particular is essential for young people (Lusardi, 2017). The National Financial Educators Council (2018) defines financial literacy “as possessing the skills and knowledge on financial matters to confidently take effective action that best fulfills an individual’s personal, family global community goals (Messy and Monticone , 2019). It is important to understand Financial Literacy for an individual to manage their expenses and handle their finances properly (Davies, 2019). Different study proposes that people should know especially students to be more aware of their financial understanding which includes their roles and responsibilities govern their finances in a good way (Jayaraman & Saigeetha 2018).

A vital life skill that enables people to make wise and responsible when it comes to spending decisions is education regarding financial literacy. The capacity to handle money sensibly is essential to achieving both short-term and long-term financial well being in today’s intricate and changing financial environment ( Teves , 2015). Students are a crucial group that needs a solid foundation in financial literacy because they are about to enter adulthood and will soon have deal with a variety of financial issues (Jonas, 2020). This study aim to know the Level of Knowledge in Financial Literacy of Grade Eleven Humanities and Social Sciences Students of Binalbagan National High School for Academic Year 2022-2023.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM Specifically, it sought to answer the following research question: 1.) What is the Level of Knowledge in Financial Literacy of Grade Eleven Humanities and Social Sciences Students and when group together according to the following variables? Section Sex

Gender equality is considered a critical element in achieving Decent Work for All Women and Men, in order to effect social and institutional change that leads to sustainable development with equity and growth (Allan, 2019). Gender equality refers to equal rights, responsibilities and opportunities that all persons should enjoy, regardless of whether one is born male or female (Romero, 2020). The fundamental equality before the law of women and men is the legal mandate in Gender and Development, which is provided for in the 1987 Philippine Constitution (Hidalgo, M., 2018). The conversation on gender equality and development has become increasingly worldwide in the last few years. The necessity of raising awareness and understanding of gender-related issues is at the center of this discussion (Manalo, 2017). Students have a significant influence on the future direction of society norms and attitudes on gender roles and equality inside the educational setting. In assessing students' knowledge of gender and development initiatives is an important and urgent task to fulfill of the schools (Fernandez, 2020). In this modern era, technological developments continue to grows. Through advance technological developments will enhance according to the development of increasingly high science. Technology was created to provide convenience for human life in carrying out daily activities and provide positive value ( Indrawarsari , 2019). However, even though it was originally created to produce positive benefits, on the other hand it is also possible to use it for negative things. Many advanced technologies have been created resu lted to different negative impact such as gadgets (Mosquera & de Luna, 2016). Chapter 1 INTRODUCTION

The time spent in using technology can lead to progress. On the other hand it can create a big change in human life in various fields and big influence on social life ( Sahetapy , 2021). Gadgets are a technological tool that is currently growing rapidly and has special functions, including smartphones and tablets ( Fauzi , 2018). The gadgets include various applications can present various social media so that they are often misused and also have a bad impact on student academic scores (Das, 2018). This study aim to know the Time Spent on Using Gadgets by Students in relation to their Academic Performance of Grade Eleven Humanities and Social Sciences Students of Binalbagan National High School for Academic Year 2022-2023.
