DISCOVERY LEARNING THEORY John Dewey SOCIO-CULTURAL THEORY Lev Vygotsky CONSTRUCTIVIST THEORY Jerome Bruner THREE EDUCATIONAL THEORIES
DISCOVERY LEARNING THEORY Children need a chance to explore, experience, and connect information in order to truly understand and internalize abstract principles. -to solve the problem, students must gather information, research, and ask questions about possible solutions to the given problem.
SOCIO-CULTURAL THEORY -The role of social interaction and culture play in the development of higher-order thinking skills. -human development and learning originate in social and cultural interaction. In other words, the ways people interact with others and the culture in which they live shape their mental abilities.
CONSTRUCTIVIST THEORY -Learning is an active process wherein those learning are able to form new ideas based on what their current knowledge is as well as their past knowledge.
