Is used to describe actions or events
that started in the past and have
relevance to the present.

The verbs we use in present perfect are PAST
PARTICIPLE
The verbs

Actions that happened at an unspecified
time before now:
1.
The exact time is not important and it is not
mentioned.
Example: I have seen that movie before. (When?
Not specified.)
Uses

2. Experiences:
To talk about experiences or achivements in
someone’s life without mentioning when.
Example: She has traveled to many countries.
Uses

3. Actions that started in the past and
continue into the present:
Example:
I have lived here for five years. (I still live here
now)
He has worked at the company since 2010.
(He still works there now)
Uses

4. Recent actions with present results:
Used to talk about actions that have just
happened and have an effect on the present.
Example:
I have lost my keys. (I still can’t find them)
She has finished her dinner.
Uses

Negatives:
We only add “NOT” to the sentence or
haven’t/hasn’t.
Example:
I haven’t lost my keys.
She hasn’t finished her dinner.
They haven’t eaten today.
It hasn’t rained much lately.
