Effectiveness of Azospirillum and Pseudomonas Bacteria on Biodegradable Surfactant ( BISUK) ENVIRONMENT Lintang Perwitasari Tasya Regita P. SMA Kesatuan Bangsa
BACKGROUND 4 F ood agroindustry increase about 1 8 % every year in various regions (Badan Pusat Statistik) L aundry services need a high amount of detergent.
PROBLEM FORMULATION Can waste cooking oil be used for making detergent ? What is the most effective bacteria for detergent bioremediation between Azospirillum sp. and Pseudomonas aeruginosa ? What is the best composition to make a detergent from waste cooking oil ? 5
Reduce the waste of cooking oil 6 ADVANTAGES Produce a biodegradable detergent
7
Why did we cho o se Pseudomonas and Azospirillum sp. for bioremediation?

C onclusion The waste of cooking oil can be converted into a biodegradable surfactant Based on the OD calculation the most effective bacteria is Pseudomonas. The best product is Methyl ester sulfonate use 15 % NaOH with ratio of MES and water is 1:19. 17
SUGGESTIONS Further research on the best formula for BISUK’s viscosity and washing power. Measurement of methyl ester after bioremediation using GC-MS. Socialization to the wider community. 18
