Presentation of Group 1 The Blower Nama: Mukhammad Naufal M.Uwessy A.Q Siti Aisyah

Blower working principle This tool works by utilizing the rotary motion of the rotor or impeller. In the rotation process, the air will be pushed and a vortex (circular) movement is formed. As long as this movement occurs, the air will be compressed or increase in volume continuously. In the end the air will come out through the output area at a certain speed. The air output is either low or high pressure.

Blower working principle Characteristics tend to decrease as system pressure increases Pressure rise from 1136-2066 Cannot be used for material handling Having an impeller as the main tool Not suitable for systems which may experience clogging.

There are also blower functions including: Support Air Conditioning System Air regulation is needed for industrial and non-industrial needs. This system is usually supported by a device called an air handling unit or AHU with various purposes ranging from filtration, heating to cooling. In this system, blowers are often used to help air move from one area to another. Remove Odor In the production line at factories, smoke, odors and other things that are unpleasant to the sense of smell are sometimes formed. Apart from causing discomfort, the odor can also poison the worker’s body. To get rid of it, you can use a filtration system where the blower and fan are the components.

Removing Dust Almost all industries, be it pharmaceutical, food, and agriculture, require a blower to remove some of the fine particles in the air that can damage the ingredients or disrupt the processing. Fans can actually be used for this need but are less effective for heavy particles. Besides being able to be used for industrial needs, these benefits can also be applied to home needs. Generally, people use these tools to clean electronic devices such as computers, rooms, and certain furniture. Helps Reduce Water Humidity The term saturated air refers to air conditions that are very humid and can cause corrosion. To overcome this condition, a blower can be used. However, the gas mover must be designed in such a way as to be resistant to rust, for example by using stainless steel.

Moving Materials Besides being able to be used to remove dust, this tool can also be used to move materials, especially in the form of granules and powders. The tool will be integrated in a special pipe through which the powdered materials are passed using a pneumatic conveying process Cleaning the House Vacuum Cleaner is a tool that uses a blower to help clean the house and suck up dirt or dust on the house furniture. In addition, from the food to agriculture sector, a blower is needed to remove dust or fine particles in the air that can damage the material or processing of a product

Smoke Killer When producing products in factories, sometimes there is smoke and smell. The smoke and odors that exist can reduce the comfort of workers or can even cause the bodies of factory workers to experience poisoning. In this case the blower is used as a filter to neutralize the air and usually the fan is used as a component. Usually the blower will be changed to reduce the risk of rust, for example by using anti-rust materials such as stainless steel. Increase Comfort A room that is cool, odorless , and has good air circulation, of course, will make anyone feel more comfortable. Various furniture is also not easily damp and moldy so that the durability of the furniture can be maintained for a longer time. Keeps Room Air Cool Not only in the bathroom and kitchen, you can also use this tool in the bedroom. Install an Exhaust Fan or blower so you don’t have to keep turning on the AC. You can also save on electricity costs with this tool. Usually, the room can stay cool and air circulation also gets better

BLOWER FUNCTIONS IN THE INDUSTRIAL FIELD Industrial blowers are primarily used to circulate air and gas movement in ventilation applications. Its main function is to replace impure or contaminated air with fresh air by rotating it. Almost every industry, including agriculture, chemical, medical, oil and gas, automotive, food processing, mining, and construction uses blowers for various purposes such as drying, heat reduction, smoke and odor reduction, processing and gas fume control. Industrial blowers are manufactured using durable plastic or metal materials, or a combination of the two materials. For example, industrial blowers operating in corrosive environments are usually made of polypropylene because it provides better structural integrity and corrosion resistance, and will never wear off the laminate. Usually in the chemical industry, this blower is used to circulate certain gases in chemical process stages known as boosters or circulators

Component unit Blower is one of the component units that we are familiar with in industrial areas. This one unit is also one of the most important components in the dust collector system which functions to suck air and dust in the production area. To determine the specifications of the blower, it must adjust to the needs in the field with precise and correct calculations. On this occasion, I will share how to easily calculate blower RPM.

How to Calculate Blower RPM We also need to know, that in setting and determining the RPM of this blower can use 2 (two) ways, including: 1. Using pulley transmission 2. Using an inverter How to calculate the RPM of a blower that uses a pulley transmission is quite easy, using the ratio formula = P1 : P2 x motor RPM. Where P1 is the motor drive pulley, P2 is the impller pulley, the motor RPM is the motor rotation per minute according to the specifications of the motor installed. To find out the RPM of this motor, you can see the name plate attached to the electric motor. Let's take the case of a centrifugal blower with a 12" motor pulley and a 13" impeller pulley. The blower uses an electric motor with a power specification of 50 hp/4pole/1500 rpm. So we can know that P1 = 12, P2 = 13 and motor RPM = 1500. Using

Before the power of the blower/fan can be calculated, a number of operating parameters must be measured, including air velocity, pressure head, fan airflow temperature. Here we will calculate the power of the blower and calculate the efficiency of the blower/fan, the calculation is divided into several stages so that it can be easily understood: Stage 1: Calculate the specific gravity of the gas The first stage is to calculate the specific gravity of air or gas using the following equation: Gas density (γ)=273 x 1.293/ 273 + t 0C Where, t °C = temperature of air or gas at the conditions in place

Stage 2: Measure airspeed and calculate average airspeed Airspeed can be measured using a pitot tube and manometer, or with a flow sensor (differential pressure instrument), or an accurate anemometer. The figure below shows how velocity pressure is measured using a pitot tube and a manometer

Stage 3: calculating the volumetric flow The third stage is to calculate the volumetric flow as follows: Measure the duct diameter (or from a circuit where the diameter can be estimated). Calculate the volume of air/gas in the duct with the following relationship Volumetric Q (m3/s) = Volume x A(area)

Stage 4:Calculating Blower Power The relationship between total head, H and discharge Q is expressed by the. Daya blower = γ. Q. H (Watt)

Tahap 5: Menghitung efisiensi Blower Efisiensi mekanik dan statik dapat dihitung sebagai berikut :
