2. Introduction Graphic teaching material that include diagrams , posters , maps and graphic , pictures etc The main function of the charts is always to show to show relationship such as comparission , relative amounts , development , processes , classification and organisation

3. Definition Charts are the graphic aids that depict information in the form of tables , pictures , graphics and diagrams – “Kinder” Charts can be defined as visual symbol summerising , comparing , or performing other helpful services in explaining the subject matter.

4. Purposes of charts To motivate students . illustrative visual media . Depicts relationship between main idea and supporting facts . Useful in teaching situations where breakdown of a fact or a statement is to be listed .

5. Helpful to show comparison . Useful in depiction of organisational and hieraricial structures. Present obstruct ideas in visual forms .

7. Tree chart It is depicted in form of tree Main concept is at the trunk of the tree Subdivisions at the branches . E xplains the consequence of a complex disease very well .

8. Stream chart Main concept explained in the form of streams of river Sub parts in the form of tributaries Similar to the tree chart

9. Narrative chart Expanded in a left to right arrangement of facts and ideas used to express the concept Used to explain the causes and effect

10. Tabulation Most common forms of types of charts . Used for comparison . Listing advantages and disadvantages . Presents information in ordinary sequence . Very valuable aid in a teaching situation where breakdown of a fact or statement is to be listed .

11. Flow chart Helpful in study of organizational hierarchical structures. Lines , rectangles , circles are used commonly . Care must be taken to preserve the sense of order and sequence .

12. Genealogy Represents the growth and development of an empire , dynasty or historical data. These charts take analogy from the tree charts

13. Time Chronological framework within which the events may be recorded. Develop time sense among pupils which helps them to comperehend and visualize the pageant of time and its relationship .
