PAGE LAYOUT The Page Layout tab contains following options : - Themes - Page Setup - Page Background - Paragraph - Arrange 3 Fig.1: Page Layout Tab

PAGE SETUP It contains following options : - Margins - Orientation - Size - Columns - Breaks - Line Numbers - Hyphenation 4 Fig. 2: Page Setup option

MARGINS It defines the amount of white space that appears at the top , bottom , left , and right edges of our document. It provides several standard margin sizes like ; - Normal - Narrow - Moderate - Wide - Mirrored - Office 2003 default 5 Fig. 3: Page Setup Dialog Box We can specify our own margin settings. Click Margins , click Custom Margins then a dialog box appear as shown in Fig. 3.

How to view Page Margins…? Click the Microsoft Office Button & then click Word Options . Click Advance , & then click the Show text boundaries check box under Show document content as shown in Fig. 4. 6 Fig. 4: To activate view page margin options

ORIENTATION It contains two options: - Portrait (vertical) - Landscape (horizontal) To change the orientation of entire document choose one of the option given above from page layout tab as shown in Fig. 1. To change the orientation of selected text, in Fig. 3 click Selected text instead of Whole document in the Apply to list. 7

SIZE COLUMNS Choose the size of paper by clicking in size option of page setup group as shown in Fig. 1 & we can also specify our own settings . 8 It helps to separate section of our document and make them look more interesting to read. We can select desired no. and style of columns by selecting more columns..option in Columns submenu then a dialog box appears like Fig. 6. BREAKS LINE NUMBER It has two sections : A. Page Break - Page - Column - Text Wrapping B. Section Break - Next Page - Continuous - Even/Odd Page It helps to display appropriate no. beside each line text which is useful in documents like legal contract or a script. To add line continuously click Continuous in Line Number Option, to start with no. 1 on each page or after each section break, click Restart Each Page or Restart Each Section . We can also customize it by clicking Line Number Option as shown in Fig. 7. 9 Fig. 7: Line Number Option Tab

HYPHENATION It helps to hyphenate the text Automatically or Manually for the word which is to long to fit at the end of the line by inserting optional or nonbreaking hyphens. To customize click on Hyphenation Option then a tab appears like Fig. 8. 10 Fig. 8: Hyphenation Option Tab

PAGE BACKGROUND It has following option as shown in Fig. 9: - Watermark - Page Color - Page Border WATERMARK We can insert watermark by clicking Watermark button in Page Background Group or we can also customize it by clicking Custom Watermark Option in Watermark button & can create our own watermark as shown in Fig. 11 Fig. 9: Page Background Fig. 10: Custom Watermark Option

PAGE COLORS & BORDERS We can apply a page border or color, click on the Page Background Group, click the Page Color or Page Border drop down menu n choose desired option as shown in Fig. 12 Fig. 11: More Color Option Fig. 12: Page Border Option

PARAGRAPH It allow us to select indent space for selected paragraph text in our word document. We can use the down mark of the selection box to open the selection list & can click on a type of special indent space from the selection list. 13 Fig. 13: Paragraph Tab Fig. 14: Paragraph Option
