TARLAC Tarlac , it’s just a stopover point midway Manila to Baguio, the popular vacation capital. Tarlac is bounded by the provinces with vast lands of sugarcanes and agricultural crops, the Pampanga on the north and on the south. In 2007, a province-wide festival displaying creativity, unity ( bayanihan ) , ingenuity, and Filipinos’ love on celebrations was born. This festival is celebrated every November in the province of Tarlac. It is a grand spectacle that brings joy and leaves people in awe. Tarlac’s very own festival, “ Belenismo ”. Belenismo is a Spanish word which means “the art of making Belen.” It is a recreation of the Christmas nativity scene with Joseph, Mary and Baby Jesus.

Murcon is like embotido , but this Kapampangan embotido combines ground pork and ground beef. Chorizo de bilbao , and perhaps the addition of pimiento, is what makes morcon pungently tasty. Frogs used in betute are farm-raised, so these are safe to eat. The filling is usually ground beef although some Pampangueños experiment with ground pork or ground shrimp as filling.

Feast of the Ina Poonbato , not to be confused with the feast of the Immaculate Conception, is a celebrated religious festival held in Botolan annually every January and draws over half a million visitors. It honors Nuestra Señora de la Paz y Buen Viaje , the oldest known image of the Virgin Mother in Asia. Dinamulag Festival is a festival that takes place every March or April. It is intended as a way to celebrate the bountiful harvest of mango, which is a fruit that grows abundantly in Iba . This event sees several performances similar to Pahiyas Festival activities, including street dancing that features dancers clad in fruit-themed costumes.
AURORA Aurora Province is located on the East-Central side of Luzon Island. It is the north-eastern most province of Central Luzon (Region III). It is bordered on the north by the provinces of Isabela and Qurino , on the west by Nueva Ecija and Nueva Viscaya , on the south by Bulacan and Quezon, and on the east by the Pacific Ocean. The province’s main link to the rest of Luzon is through a narrow mountain gravel road that twists through the Sierra Madre Mountain Range. The road is located between Baler and Bongabon , Nueva Ecija. The Baler Hanging Bridge is situated along Zabali Road and connects the barangays of Tibang and Sabang . The bridge is made of wooden planks and railings that are suspended above a wide river by sturdy metal cables. It measures about a meter in width and is over a hundred meters long. While locals often use it for their daily errands, it has become one of the well-known tourist attractions in Baler, Aurora over the years due to the stunning views it offers.
DIGUISIT AND ANIAO ISLET Diguisit Beach is one of the popular surfing spots in Baler and is located about 11 KM from the town proper. In addition to the constant waves that are great for surfing, this white sand beach also boasts unique rock formations and crystal clear water. The most famous formations here are the Aniao Islets, which are two small islands. These islets were naturally shaped by the strong waves that slam against the shore when the winds are strong. Surrounding these sturdy formations were rocky landscapes that become pools of cool water whenever the tide is low.
5 food in Baler was surprisingly good. It was a simple inihaw of Yellow Fin Tuna with soy sauce, tomatoes and onions. I particularly liked their version of bagoong with inihaw na talong (grilled eggplant). For dessert, they served fresh fruits of the day. This is actually the perfect suman for me. It is a bit sweet already so no need to dip it in sugar. It is light, as big as a finger but a little longer, and wrapped artistically well. It is made fresh everyday so you can only buy them in the morning. It costs P5 a piece and is sold in bunches of 10. It comes in two versions — the basic white and the ube -colored one made with rice coming from Dilasag , Aurora. Baler Suman
