Abstract Floods can cause extensive demolition, resulting in loss of human and animal’s life and damages to road transport, personal property and critical open health infrastructure. Individuals who live in floodplains or non-resistant buildings, or need caution systems and awareness of flooding risks. Early detection and alert systems can offer assistance, save a lot of lives, and can be valuable for governmental organizations for issuing flood alerts. Aim of the project is to develop a model which can be fixed to lakes and other waterbodies across smart cities for real-time monitoring of various parameters like Water level, Temperature, Rain, and Humidity. Based on this information the data is compared with a threshold value and an alert is displayed on a website and also sent as an SMS during abnormal conditions to the users . 2

Literature Survey 3 Authors C ontribution Anjali Sharma Alka Chaudhary, Ajay Rana. (2021) Authors contributed by creating a framework that would show the information of level of water estimated on the webpage. Kalpesh R, Vishal B and Gaikwad G Sagar. (2019) Authors contributed by creating a model where Ultrasonic sensors will send a signal to the microprocessor and sense the water level, which in turn will be shown in the interface and will automatically send an SMS to the users.

4 Authors Contribution Abinendra Chand, Sumut Prasad and Bibhya Sharma. (2021) Authors contributed by creating a model where a pressure sensor and a pipe is used to detect the level of water. Based on the level of the water in the pipe, the pressure rises and when it reaches a threshold, an alert SMS is sent. Shivashankar, Jijesh, Dileep Reddy and Sruthi P.(2020) Authors contributed by creating a model where a ESP32 was used to create a core interface among different enabling technologies.

Methodology 5

6 Ultrasonic Sensor - It is used to measure the level of water in the waterbodies . Rain Sensor - It gives the output as 0 if there is no rain and 1 when there are rain drops detected. Dht11 Sensor - It is used to measure the temperature and humidity of the surroundings. GPS Sensor - It is used to detect the location where flood happens. GSM Sensor - The location is shared by the message using GSM. LCD Display – It Display the water level
