C18 DPF Regeneration Introduction
•The trapped particulate matter (soot) is cleaned from the DPF
through a catalytic reaction and by heating the filter through a
process called Regeneration.
•Regeneration can be triggered by soot level and other
maintenance activities.
•Regeneration can happen automatically:
•Be aware of high exhaust temperature when regeneration is
happening.
•DPF will have to be replaced if soot load exceeds maximum limit;
When regeneration fails, call your dealership to support.
