INTRODUCTION Ready-to-Cook (RTC) and Ready-to-Eat (RTE) foods represent two distinct categories within the convenience food market, offering consumers convenient and time-saving options for meal preparation and consumption. Ready-to-Eat (RTE) foods are prepared meals or snacks that require no further cooking or preparation before consumption, offering convenience and immediate consumption. Ready-to-Cook (RTC) foods are partially or fully prepared ingredients or meal components that require minimal additional preparation before being cooked or assembled into a finished dish, providing a balance between convenience and customization.

MARKET ANALYSIS AND GROWTH TRENDS The RTE food products have grown at a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 12% over the last decade, while RTC food products have grown at a CAGR of 7% over the same period. The production of RTE/RTC foods in India is expected to reach around ₹ 9,600 Cr. or 4.6 Lac MT by FY'30, indicating a CAGR of approximately 13%. The government of India has introduced various schemes and projects to boost the RTE/RTC sector. The RTE/RTC food market in India is primarily driven by young consumers, and the millennial population accounts for approximately 34% of the total population, indicating a significant potential for the sector in India.
