PROGRESS Eng J. Mpashi Blasting Factors affecting drilling & blasting As at 19/03/2024 we were at 63 blasts with an aim to get to at least 87 blasts by 26/03/2024. Interruption of water supply Low machine availability and reliability Late handover of Machines by engineering Charging unit coming late to charge or not enough emulsion Blaster malfunctioning Interruption of drilling activities e.g. MCM coming to blast a VCR stope Broken shunk or rod Lack of motivation amongst workforce 4

ATTENTION AREAS Eng J. Mpashi Delays Since Last Update Water interruption seems to be the biggest challenge contributing to major delays. Understand Delays are hurting our progress Planning tasks is critical to avoid any other delays apart from water interruption. Include other team members to share their ideas on how work can be carried out. 5

Presentation title 7 Way forward Let’s have a ‘water chaser’ on each level we are drilling, the purpose of this person will be to move around to ensure water supply is adequate and keep watch to regulate. Ensure the engineering team goes underground early to carry out pre-shift maintenance, drilling should commence by 9 a.m. Have someone assigned to follow up the charging unit and have it assigned to our sections for charging in good time. Allow for supervisors to speak and share their ideas during the pre-shift meeting in the office. Implement short term planning and scheduling to know exactly what activities we shall undertake days before the actual date, whilst anticipating for the challenges and adjusting the plan accordingly. Introduction of bonuses for teams that meet weekly targets can be a great morale booster for workers and can help the company achieve it’s monthly targets.
