Key Strategic Objectives: Relieve Traffic Congestion: Provide a high-speed, alternative route to bypass congested ground-level roads. Improve Connectivity: Seamlessly link different parts of Dhaka, including major highways and the international airport. Minimize Land Acquisition: Utilize space above existing roads to reduce the need for property acquisition and demolition.
Core Scope & Key Components 1 . Core Infrastructure: Elevated Expressway: Construction of a 46.73 km structure (including ramps) primarily using precast I-girders on bored pile foundations. Access & Egress: Strategically placed interchanges, on-ramps, and off-ramps to connect with the existing road network. 2. Operational Systems Toll Collection: State-of-the-art toll plazas equipped with a fully computerized and automated toll collection system. Safety & Surveillance: Adequate lighting along the entire expressway. Advanced traffic surveillance and management system. User Facilities: Dedicated service areas with public toilets, seating, and other amenities. Designated lay-bys for emergency stops and rest.
