This Presentation: "Prompt Engineering and Responsible Use of AI in Academic Research," was first delivered by Sylvester Ebhonu (The Digital Librarian) at the Department of School Library and Media Technology, University of Ibadan (UI) workshop held on 24th of September 2024. The slide provides a comprehensive guide for researchers and Post-Graduate students who want to effectively incorporate AI into their academic work. The slide is organized into three key modules I called junctions:

1. Understanding AI in the Academic Context: Evolution of Information Retrieval, An introduction to how generative AI models like ChatGPT and Claude function, focusing on their applications in academic research for informed usage.
2. Prompt Engineering – crafting effective prompts to get best AI results for academic tasks, with practical tips and examples for refining prompts....
