DEFINITION: AI REFERS TO THE SIMULATION OF HUMAN INTELLIGENCE
IN MACHINES THAT ARE PROGRAMMED TO THINK AND LEARN LIKE
HUMANS. THESE SYSTEMS CAN PERFORM TASKS SUCH AS VISUAL
PERCEPTION, SPEECH RECOGNITION, DECISION-MAKING, AND
LANGUAGE TRANSLATION.

MACHINE LEARNING (ML): IS A SUBSET OF AI... IT INVOLVES TRAINING
A MODEL ON A DATASET TO MAKE PREDICTIONS OR DECISIONS
WITHOUT BEING EXPLICITLY PROGRAMMED FOR THE TASK.

DEEP LEARNING: IS A SUBSET OF ML THAT USES NEURAL NETWORKS
WITH MANY LAYERS (DEEP NEURAL NETWORKS) TO MODEL COMPLEX
PATTERNS IN DATA.
NATURAL LANGUAGE PROCESSING (NLP): IS A FIELD OF AI THAT
FOCUSES ON THE INTERACTION BETWEEN COMPUTERS AND HUMANS
THROUGH NATURAL LANGUAGE.
LARGE LANGUAGE MODELS (LLMS): ARE A TYPE OF AI MODEL THAT
HAVE BEEN TRAINED ON VAST AMOUNTS OF TEXT DATA TO
UNDERSTAND AND GENERATE HUMAN LANGUAGE.

GENERATIVE AI: REFERS TO SYSTEMS THAT CAN CREATE NEW CONTENT, SUCH
AS TEXT, IMAGES, OR MUSIC, BASED ON THE DATA THEY HAVE BEEN TRAINED ON.
ALGORITHM: IS A SET OF RULES OR A STEP-BY-STEP PROCEDURE USED BY
COMPUTERS TO PERFORM A SPECIFIC TASK OR SOLVE A PROBLEM.
PROMPT: IN THE CONTEXT OF AI, A PROMPT IS AN INPUT OR QUERY GIVEN TO A
LANGUAGE MODEL TO GENERATE A RESPONSE.
TOKEN: IS THE NATURAL LANGUAGE INPUT BY A HUMAN USER TO AN LLM.
PROPERLY ENGINEERED PROMPTS THAT CONSIDER TOKEN BOUNDARIES CAN
BRING ABOUT MORE ACCURATE RESPONSES.

CHATBOT: A CHATBOT IS AN AI-DRIVEN SOFTWARE APPLICATION THAT CAN
ENGAGE IN CONVERSATION WITH USERS THROUGH TEXT OR VOICE.

A Prompt is the natural language input by a
human user to an LLM. Prompt Engineering
is the process of developing and refining a
prompt to optimize the output by LLMs.
(Liu, et.al 2021)
"is how humans can talk to AIs. It is a way to tell
the AI what we want and how you want it, usually
done with words. For example, you might want to
generate an image but have nothing to show it
as an example. What would you do?" - LOUIS
BOUCHARD
Prompting
Let's carry out a demonstration of how
this presentation cover image was
generated using a well constructed
prompt
As a Researcher, when using any Large
Language Model (LLM) like ChatGPT, etc. the
resulty you get from them are as good as the
quality of the prompt that you feed into them.
DEMO

What information are you looking for? What
do you want the AI model to do about it?
The result you get from any AI tool is as
good as how you have instructed it.

BE CLEAR ON YOUR OBJECTIVE

Are you making a request, asking a question, or
giving it a command? The prompt's tone will help the
chatbot determine how to respond to you. Do you
with it to be a friendly or professional tone? or you
need a list, or summary or comparison?
While its best to not overload Generative
AI Tools with too much instructions, the
response you get will be more precise if
you provide some contextual clues.
Verify the response you get. Most AI tools have
limitations and won't always get it right. If the
result isnt in line with what you expected
consider refining your prompt and try again.

Research Topic Suggestions: Act as a professor of
(insert specific discipline). Your key assignment is to
assess and generate academic research topics for
PhD students, in line with standard criteria for the
formation of research topics. (you may specify
criteria). If you receive a proposed topic, channel
your expertise to refine/generate groundbreaking
research topics. Cutting edge, recent discoveries,
novel theoretical frameworks. Consider unexplored
areas but researchable topics
Using Google Form Creation new feature: Create a form
using these specific number of questions (insert all generated
questions and watch the AI feature generate your form).

For Research Objective: Inline with this topic (insert
research topic) in (insert field), formulate 5 clear and
achievable research objectives that will directly contribute
to addressing the main hypothesis.
5
For Research Questions: Given the research topic (insert
the topic) and in line with the following objectives (type
objectives), generate five corresponding, academically
rigorous research questions. Each question should be
original and feasible to investigate
6
Generating Questionnaire: As an expert in research
methodology, create 28 well-crafted questions for a
questionnaire on (topic), with not less than 4 question for each
subheadings in line with the Research Questions. Should be mix
of Likert scale, multiple choice, open-ended, etc. Each question
should be unbiased and relevant to the research objectives.

“I’ve been on a digital transformation for over
20 years; the first lesson is, it doesn’t happen
overnight,”
“a lot of the new work for us is figuring out what we want to
assess in the process, instead of just at the end,.. The end
has been so reliable, for so long, as a measure of learning.
But now we have to assess in the middle—which we’ve been
saying for decades, but now our hands are forced.”
