2. PROPERTIES OF ALUMINIUM It is a very good conductor of heat and electricity. It is a silvery white metal with a bluish tinge and it exhibits bright lusture on a freshly broken surface. It is a Non-magnetic substance. It is highly resistant to corrosion.

3. PROPERTIES OF ALUMINIUM It specific weight is 2.7g/cm3, which is one third of steel. It is also insoluble in alcohol & water. It is 100% recyclable without any loss of its natural qualities. Aluminium alloys maintain strength at high temperature.

4. PROPERTIES OF ALUMINIUM Melting point is 660 c and Boiling point is 2500 c. The pure metal is soft, but it becomes strong and hard when alloyed. It can be beaten into extremely thin sheets. Capable of being shaped or bent. It has FCC structure.

5. PROPERTIES OF ALUMINIUM In nature, aluminium is found only in chemical compounds with other elements such as sulphur, silicon, and oxygen. Pure metal aluminium can be economically produced only from aluminium oxide ore. Occurs in all types of clay.
