Test Standard tensile test- ISO 527-1:2012 the gauge length of 75 mm. test speed - 1 mm/min compressive test - ISO 604:2002 test speed - 1 mm/min three-point flexural test - ISO 178:2010 test speed - 2 mm/min ISO standard suggested material requirements for railway plastic sleeper applications with certain conditions; that is, material type A should have a minimum bending and compressive strength higher than 28 MPa and 40 MPa, respectively.

Sleepers 2600 × 300 × 150 mm similar to typical wooden sleepers Queensland Rail [20] specified the cross-sectional dimension of alternative railway sleepers. width (W) 225 – 255 , depth (D) at rail-seat is between 110 and 125 mm. Therefore, a lower bound section of 230 mm (W) × 115 mm (D) was selected from the economic viewpoint. The length of the sleeper can vary between 2125 and 2175 mm and considered 2130 mm current price of each timber sleeper is approximately AU$80 while the timber replacement alternative sleeper can go up to AU$160 (final product cost) indicated by Queensland Rail.
