PROBLEMS: Causes and solutions Of: Lecarnaque Reyes Camila F l ores Fernández Piero

Community problem 01

Sedentary lifestyle An unhealthy habit that we observed in my community today was a sedentary lifestyle. We have seen many people who have been inactive and hadn´t exercised regularly. During our free time, we were often sitting, either in front of the computer or another device, watching television, or playing video games. Many of our jobs had become more inactive, with long days spent sitting at a desk. The way we transported ourselves did not help us either: cars, buses, motorcycles, etc. Therefore, we had to be very careful, as a sedentary lifestyle had doubled the risk of cardiovascular diseases. This is why we recommended exercising regularly and eating healthy.

Causes of sedentary lifestyle The causes of sedentary lifestyle have been various, some of which include: Technology and modern conveniences have led to a more sedentary lifestyle, with less physical activity necessary compared to previous generations. Modern lifestyle Transportation Sedentary works The use of motorized transportation instead of walking or cycling has contributed to a sedentary lifestyle. Many jobs have required long hours sitting in front of a computer, which has limited physical activity during the workday.

Environmental problem 02

Pollution of the Chira River 1 2 3 Your username The environmental problem that we have observed in the city of Sullana has been the contamination of the Chira River due to discharges of wastewater and untreated solid waste. These factors have generated a health risk for the population. All of this wastewater has come from the drain and sinks inside the hospital, as contagious infectious substances often have gone directly to the domestic sewage network without any prior treatment, ending in the Chira River, putting all people at risk and causing damage to the city

Global warming Deforestation Sewage water Causes of river pollution The increase in Earth's temperature, due to CO2 emissions, which has heated the water and has led to a decrease in it´s oxygen level. The cutting down of forests can deplete water sources and generates organic waste that serves as a breeding ground for contaminating bacteria. Another cause of the contamination of the Chira River could have been primarily the discharge of wastewater and solid waste into the river by drains and hospitals. These infectious substances loaded with bacteria might have been sent to the domestic sewage network without prior treatment. Fuel spills The transportation and storage of oil and its derivatives gives rise to leaks that can reach water sources.

Solutions 03

A sedentary lifestyle has affected the environment as spending a lot of time with appliances such as cellphones, laptops, etc. Has led to poor energy use, and the use of vehicles, such as when ordering a delivery, has affected the air quality. This is why we present the following solutions below: Walking a little more each day, even if it was at home. If you had an activity tracker, you could have used it to motivate yourself to achieve a minimun number of daily steps and surpass the previous day´s number. Solutions for sedentary lifestyle could have been Trying to use your cellphone for a short time. This way, you would have had time to do physical activity. Planning and reserving time for physical activities. You could have planned a weekly schedule to exercise and set some alarms to help you remember.

Not pouring non-biodegradable substances into the drain is another action to avoid contaminating the water. When it is necessary to use something toxic in the water supply, such as paint or ammonia, be sure to dispose of it correctly. By replacing single-use products with reusable alternatives, we can reduce the amount of plastic waste that ends up contaminating our water resources. Efficient water consumption, less use of chemical products and correct water purification infrastructure are the best ways to simplify and improve wastewater treatment. Forests are one of the main sinks of water, both at the atmospheric and subsoil levels. The greater the forest mass, the more fresh water there will be in their environments. In addition, trees serve as purifiers for many pollutants that are discharged into the environment and help prevent them from reaching the water. The solutions to the river pollution could have been Dispose of waste the correct way Better wastewater treatment Reduction of plastic products End deforestation
