Disadvantages of social media on our lives There are the main disadvantages Fear of missing out (FOMO) Inadequacy about your life or appearance Isolation Cyberbullying and Trolling

FEAR OF MISSING OUT(FOMO) FOMO is when you feel worried that you're missing out on something fun or cool that others are doing. It's like feeling left out and wanting to be part of the action People are living better life than you Checking social media constantly to see what others are doing Feeling depressed when you see friends or peers having fun without you

Inadequacy about your life or appearance Even if you know that images you’re viewing on social media are manipulated, they can still make you feel insecure about how you look or what’s going on in your own life. Comparing yourself to others Self-doubt from constant comparison online Thinking you're not cool or popular enough based on online attention

ISOLATION Isolation means being alone or feeling left out, like you're cut off from other people Social media may replace real-life connections, leading to loneliness. Social media increases rather decreases feelings of loneliness Social media can create a false sense of connection, leaving users emotionally isolated

Cyberbullying and Trolling Spreading rumors using social media or messaging apps , posting rude or annoying comments about someone. It can make people feel really bad about themselves. Bad comments on someone post People are doing this to get attention Fake rumors about someone's personal life

Use Social media efficiently Mitigate bad effects

Ways to control social media effects We have POWER to control social media’ effects! Let’s explore some ways! Social Media has both good side and bad side But here’s the good news:

1. Set self rules & boundaries Self Rules I will: Use social media for 1 hour Unfollow negative accounts Not engage in negative comments Not compare my life to social media personalities And so on …

2. Use social media intentionally Don’t let the algorithm control you! Use social media with intention. Follow Groups that align your interest Share your ideas with others Have meaningful discussions

3 . Digital detox Digital detox: a break from the digital world Benefits: Reduce stress Avoid addiction Enjoy world around you!

4. Signs you need a break When is social media too much? Beware of these signs! Late night scrolling Constantly checking phone Comparing yourself to social media personalities and FOMO Decline in focus and productivity And so on… Caution! High Social Media Usage
