SCIENCE 5 WEEK 4 DAY 2

Learning Objective Learners will be able to: 1. define volume; 2. identify the tools and units of measurement for volume; and 3: measure volumes of some objects using graduated cylinders or beakers.

Instructions: In your group, list 5 classroom items that occupy space. Describe their size and what tool you would use to measure each one.

Instructions: Arrange the steps in the correct order by numbering them 1–5.

________Observe the new water level and subtract the original volume. _______Record the water level before placing the object.

________Gently tie and lower the irregular object into the water. _______Fill a graduated cylinder with water. ________Calculate and record the volume of the object.

Describe Volume Think. Give at least 5 things found in the classroom that occupy space. Ink. Write these down on a sheet of paper and give a simple description.

Share. Share with a seatmate. Try to find out what are the common answers given by you and your partner. A representative shares their answer with the class.

Given a list of objects, put a check if this has volume and an X if none.

Based on your answers, what can you write about things and volume?

Instructions: Write the correct answer on the blank. Tool used in laboratories to measure liquid volume: ______________ 2. 1 liter is equal to how many milliliters? ______________

3. Curved surface of a liquid in a container: ______________ 4. Unit used to measure very small volumes: ______________ 5. A container with measurement lines used in volume experiments: ______________

Thank You.
