3. OBJECTIVES Discuss and Identify the different farm tools and equipment. Clean tools and equipment after use in line with farm procedures orderly. Perform pre-operative check-up of farm tools and equipment.

38. These are machineries used in crop production. They are used in land preparation and in transporting farm inputs and products. FARM EQUIPMENT

39. HAND TRACTOR It is used to pull a plow and harrow in preparing a large area of land.

40. FOUR-WHEEL TRACTOR It is used to pull disc plow and disc harrow in preparing much bigger area of land.

41. WATER PUMP This is used to draw irrigation water from a source.

42. THRESHER It is a farm machine for separating wheat, peas, soybeans, and other small grain and seed crops from their chaff and straw.

43. CORN DEHUSKER It is a machine that removes the thin outer covering (husks) from an ear of corn.

44. RICE HARVESTER It is rather small, lightweight, and special type of combine harvester developed for harvesting rice on wet/flooded paddy fields.

46. RICE MILLER It is an agricultural machine used to automate the process of removing the chaff of grains of rice.

47. RICE SEEDER It is any of various apparatus for sowing seeds in the ground, ranging from simple devices that deposit seed evenly over a plot of land to complex machines that prepare a hole in the earth, insert a seed or seeds at the proper depth, and cover the hole again.

48. HOW CLEAN YOUR TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT 1. Rust off the blade of the tools and implement. 2. Sharpen the blade of tools and implement. 3. Apply a lubricating oil to the end of the tool and carefully begin to work the stone over the blade. 4. Clean accumulated rust and dirt off all metal surface with a wire brush. 5. Remove stubborn rust with fine steel wool. 6. Lubricate fresh oil into joints of most garden tools.
