STRENGTHENING OF MYCI WELCOME TO MALAYSIANS ON MALAYSIA Our MYCI continued to record an uptrend in 2Q’24 and hit all-high at 142-point mark. News about our economy is strengthening and on-track on the road to recovery is bringing positive vibes to the rakyat where optimism is seen not only on our economic indices but also on financial well-being indices. FINANCIAL INDICATORS HIT ALL-HIGH The strengthening of economy often brings hope, opportunity, better quality of life to the people, and reflected on Malaysians’ optimism towards their current financial well-being state – which recorded all-high in 2Q’24 where the optimism being spilled over to the next 12 months. Both current and next 12 months financial well-being indicators hit above 160-points mark for the first time. POSITIVE OUTLOOK TOWARDS OUR ECONOMY While current state economy indices remained stable in 2Q’24 (vs 1Q’24), Malaysians are feeling hopeful that the country’s economy will take a positive turn in the coming 12 months Our 'Malaysians on Malaysia' research endeavors to discern contemporary market dynamics and capture the nation's prevailing pulse. Since its inauguration in 2018, the study has reliably elucidated the sentiments of Malaysians. E-WALLET USAGE RECORDED 6% GROWTH E-wallet continues to make its mark as a leading digital payment method being used among Malaysians. At 87% usage in 2Q’24, it recorded a 6% usage growth (vs 1Q’24). At 91% usage, Touch ‘n Go e-wallet further strengthen its position as the leader with MAE a distant No.2 in the e-wallet space.
