Levels Of Biological Organization In An Organism There are distinctive materials in the environment. These are also diverse kinds of living and non – living things.
Molecules These are made of atoms, the smallest unit of chemical elements. They can be found in all living organism. Examples are H2O (water), N2 (Nitrogen gas).
Cell This is the basic unit and building block of life. Examples are human blood cells, plant and animal cell.
Two Kinds of Cell There are two kinds of cells. Prokaryotic cells are ordinarily single-celled and smaller than Eukaryotic cells are the multicellular or bigger cells.
Tissue It is made of cells that work together to perform a certain task. Examples are human skin tissue, muscle tissue and connective tissue.
Organ It is made of similar tissues arranged and grouped together to perform a specific function.
Organ System Is a group of organs that work together to perform specific bodily functions. Examples: digestive system, circulatory system and other system in our body.
Organisms Is a recognizable, self – contained individual. Organisms can be unicellular such as bacteria or amoeba, or multi – cellular composed of organs and organ system.
Populations I s a group of organisms of the same species occupying a given area. A colony of ants and herd of cows are examples of this.
Community Is composed of all the population of different species of organisms living together in a given area.
Ecosystem Is made up of all the communities in a certain area, as well as all the non – living physical components of the environment.
Biosphere It is simply defined as the place, area, and zone where the entire life on Earth exists.
