My responsibilities at home are preventing me from writing. TOP 5

Top Problems “I just can’t get started” They don’t know which to do first. Ask yourself as a teacher, “Did you tell them which to prioritize?” They have not read enough. “I write so slowly that I never get so much done.” They have read a lot but they don’t know if it’s enough. What are the RQ’s? They have not read enough.

LACK FOCUS & 2 things HAVE POOR TIME MANAGEMENT

FOCUS TIME MANAGEMENT A person who understands how to focus well at work can channel their attention and energy into completing their work. This is the process of organizing and planning how to divide your time between different activities.

Students lack focus A person who understands how to focus well at work can channel their attention and energy into completing their work. Have poor time management They are willing to do research, but they do not have time. If they do not have focus, they scatter time.

Principles in Teaching Academic Writing (2Ts) Teach the process Treat every child as a writer

Traditional way of Teaching - Start the class by teaching the lessons right away Instead, - Set very clear expectations before starting the class.

How to prepare? Provide all the readings, sample articles, class tracker, in short, everything they need to succeed. References, syllabus, PowerPoint presentations, class tracker, google drive, research proposal format/ rubric, sample final output. Use only Artificial Intelligence (AI) for outlining. Do not use AI to write for them.

What problems do these solve? Lack focus and poor time management.

Traditional way of teaching Teach all the steps in writing and ask them to produce the final output Instead, Teach the steps and ask them to produce an output for each step towards finishing their final paper
