Omar Suleiman’s Yaqeen Institute Continues Its Promotion of LGBT and Gay Marriage

Just a reminder, since we are in Qawm Lut Pride month:

The biggest “Islamic” promoter of LGBT to the mainstream Muslim community continues to be Omar Suleiman’s Yaqeen Institute for “Islamic” Research.

In addition to their main paper pushing Muslims to support gay marriage and LGBTQ rights, they also have three papers published by an openly queer activist, Margarita Rosa.


Actual quotes from Yaqeen articles. Latinx refers to queer or nonbinary hispanics according to LGBT lingo.
And of course, their founder and the main face of Yaqeen, Omar Suleiman, is notorious for his continued allyship with pro-LGBT activists and his infamous quote:

“We are determined to cry together, to pray together, to stand together – straight, gay, Floridian and Texan.”

And:

“Gay Muslims exist, and they are a part of our community. It depends on the mosque they are going to, whether the mosques are going to accept them or not. A lot of that has to do with how American those mosques are, how acclimated they are to the country they are in.”

Despite my invitation to Yaqeen in the past to explain these shocking things and discuss in an open forum, Yaqeen refuses to explain themselves, let alone take down the material and issue a correction and apology.

How many Muslims (and non-Muslims) have been led into LGBT acceptance and promotion, thinking that such is Islamically acceptable because of Yaqeen?

That question alone should haunt everyone associated with Yaqeen.

It’s a question that would haunt anyone concerned about their akhira.

Ironically, Yaqeen touts its “scholarly review board” as working to “defend and promote Islamic orthodoxy.” I guess they think that LGBT, gay marriage, and queer activists are all orthodox in Islam.

Allah’s refuge is sought!

5. How is it Linked? Individualism Human reason is given preference over revelation. An individual determines for himself his own life, motives and objectives. No force from God nor society. People determine their own gender identification. There is no objective way to feel or think, it is based on each person.

9. Gender in Islam Allah has created two genders, male and female. This is the biological makeup and divine design, going against it is going against the natural disposition of mankind. Gender is not a choice. There is clear prohibition of crossdressing and imitating the opposite gender in Islam, as mentioned by the Prophet: لَعَنَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم الْمُتَشَبِّهَاتِ بِالرِّجَالِ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ وَالْمُتَشَبِّهِينَ بِالنِّسَاءِ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ ‏ "The Messenger of Allah ( ﷺ )cursed the women who imitate men and the men who imitate women.” ( Tirmidhi )

10. Its Natural Homosexual behavior is natural because we observe it in nature through animals. RESPONSE: Incorrect observation. Rather we see in the animal kingdom the reproductive instinct is to mate with the opposite sex to survive. How can we understand animal behavior? Giraffes touching necks with one another is not an example to establish homosexual behavior. Do we really get our standards and ethics from animals? ITS NOT NATURAL, MAJOR FALLACY, GOES AGAINST DARWINS THEORY.

11. God Made me Like This “Gay Gene” Hoax- Scientists and the APA have yet to provide proof that a person is born gay. Rather it is the affect of of the society. God created me like this so I cant help it. RESPONSE: The Quran mentions there is no change to the creation of Allah. We cant change our natural disposition

Roles are determined by society if you take religion out of the equation.

15. REASON 1-Everything has a Purpose Focusing solely on fulfilling desires is not characteristic/nature of humans; it is an attribute of animals. Intimate relations offer significant benefits, such as increasing lineage. Intercourse via the rectum resembles animalistic behavior, as it provides no benefit beyond the fulfillment of ones carnal desire.

16. REASON 2- Everlasting Harm If hypothetically, two parties enjoy engaging in homosexual relations, the lasting harm it causes spans a lifetime. Thus, trading a so-called temporary “pleasure” for a lifetime of harm and imperfection contradicts wisdom and is not a decision a prudent person would make.

In fact, you are a transgressing people.” قَالُوا۟ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ يَـٰلُوطُ لَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْمُخْرَجِينَ They threatened, “If you do not desist, O  Lot, you will surely be expelled.” قَالَ إِنِّى لِعَمَلِكُم مِّنَ ٱلْقَالِينَ Lot responded, “I am truly one of those who despise your ˹shameful˺ practice.

From The Life of Lut (AS) فَلَمَّا جَآءَ أَمْرُنَا جَعَلْنَا عَـٰلِيَهَا سَافِلَهَا وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهَا حِجَارَةًۭ مِّن سِجِّيلٍۢ مَّنضُودٍۢ When Our command came, We turned the cities upside down and rained down on them clustered stones of baked clay, LESSONS: Not supporting sin like the wife of Lut Speaking out against evil. Not being afraid of being called “homophobic” or any other label Adopting tawqa and following the Prophet. Preaching is our responsibility, guidance if from Allah. Making dua to Allah.

23. Greatest Fear إِنَّ أَخْوَفَ مَا أَخَافُ عَلَى أُمَّتِي عَمَلُ قَوْمِ لُوطٍ ” “One of the greatest fears I have for my Ummah is (that they perpetrate) the action of the people of Lut (AS).” ( Tirmidhi )

24. أربعة يصبحون في غضب الله ويمسون في سخط الله قلت : ومن هم يا رسول الله ؟ قال : " المتشبهين من الرجال بالنساء ، والمتشبهات من النساء بالرجال ، والذي يأتي البهيمة ، والذي يأتي الرجال “There are four types of people who spend the morning in the anger of Allah Ta‘ala and the evening in the wrath of Allah Ta‘ala Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah ( radhiyallahu ‘ anhu ) asked: “Who are they, O Messenger of Allah ( sallallahu ‘ alaihi wasallam )?” Rasulullah ( sallallahu ‘ alaihi wasallam ) replied, “1- Those men who imitate women, 2- those women who imitate men, 3- those who commit bestiality (i.e. fulfil their desires animals).”, and 4- those men who approach men (to fulfil their desires).”

25. The Curse of The Prophet ﷺ وقد ثبت عنه ﷺ أنه قال : لعن الله مَن عمل عمل قوم لوطٍ، لعن الله من عمل عمل قوم لوطٍ، لعن الله من عمل عمل قوم لوطٍ . “May the curse of Allah be upon the person who perpetrates the action of the people of Lut ” (AS). (3 times) (Ibn Hibban )

26. Taking Pride in Sin The Prophet ﷺ mentioned a true believer is one who when a sin is committed then there is a knock on his heart. Realization that something is wrong. Take care of the heart, “there is a peace of flesh in the body, if that is good then the rest of the body is good, indeed it is the heart”. Pride is a destructive sin, we take the example of Fir’oun and Qarun .

27. Having “Gay” Thoughts/Tendencies Realizing the sin and getting ready for a change. Don’t fall into temptations “Don’t come close to zina ”. Work on rectifying the nafs . Constantly making dua to Allah. Not entertaining thoughts. Entertaining evil thoughts is also a sin. Being in a good and righteous environment. Society has a major impact.

28. Our Role All Prophets were shepherds, one wisdom behind this is to create alertness. We have to be alert and vigilant. Educating our families. We don’t support sin. Making Dua . Taking action.

29. Summary There is no logical/scientific proof supporting being born homosexual. Society plays a huge impact. A Major sin. Not supporting the sin. Protecting ourselves and families.
