Requirement of RM & U of Hydro Power Plant

1. R&M of Hydro Power Requirement i) Non-availability of unit auxiliary system for unit (s) ii) Power House Colony electrical supply from generator via reactor iii) Thrust bearing problems in unit(s). iv) Most of the equipment are obsolete and hence availability of spares is very difficult . v) There have been heavy leakage through Guide vanes, bushes etc. This is a major factor for inefficient operation of the power plant. vi) Power cables failure, clogging of filters, failure of switch gear have been resulting in forced shut down of the unit. vii) Governing and excitation system operation is sluggish, resulting in frequent isolation from grid. viii) Automation system of the power house is defunct. It takes more time to start/ stop unit.
