1.Essentiallytwostepsareinvolvedinformulatingtheresearch
problem,viz.,understandingtheproblemthoroughly,andrephrasing
thesameintomeaningfultermsfromananalyticalpointofview.
2.Theresearchermustatthesametimeexamineallavailableliterature
togethimselfacquaintedwiththeselectedproblem.Hemayreview
twotypesofliterature—theconceptualliteratureconcerningthe
conceptsandtheories,andtheempiricalliteratureconsistingof
studiesmadeearlierwhicharesimilartotheoneproposed.

thehypotheses.Workinghypothesisistentativeassumption
madeinordertodrawoutandtestitslogicalorempirical
consequences.

researcherwillberequiredtopreparearesearchdesign,i.e.,he
willhavetostatetheconceptualstructurewithinwhichresearch
wouldbeconducted.
