1. A STUDY TO ASSESS THE FACTOR CAUSING TO THE POOR
ACADEMIC AND CLINICAL PERFORMANCE AMONG
NURSING STUDENTS IN NURSING COLLEGE OF MANGLORE
INTRODUCTION
•Inability to fulfil the required levels of academic achievement is
referred to as poor academic performance, and it frequently
manifests itself as low test scores, low grades, and difficulty
finishing assignments and projects. Parents, teachers, and kids
may all experience severe stress and worry as a result of this. By
determining the root causes and implementing suitable
interventions and support techniques, educators can assist
students in overcoming subpar academic outcomes and realising
their maximum potential.
OBJECTIVES.
1.To assess the elements that affect the academic performance
of nursing students such as study habits, motivation, learning
style and academic support.
2.To understand the relation between academic performance
and clinical performance
OPERATION DEFINITION
•Factors: In in the study it refers to element that affect academic
performance of nursing students .
•Poor academic and clinical performance: refers to the
inadequate not taking insufficient review of course materials lack
of interest poor observation poor confidence and lack of clinical
skills can lead to poor academic and clinical performance
HYPOTHESIS
•Lack of motivation*: Students may lack the motivation to learn and
succeed academically.
•Poor study habits*: Students may have inadequate study habits, such
as poor time management, lack of organization, and ineffective
learning strategies
•Inadequate teacher support*: Students may not receive sufficient
support or feedback from teachers, leading to confusion and
disengagement.

PERFORMANCE OF NURSING STUDENTS AT A PEDIATRICS AND CHILD HEALTH
NURSING COURSE IN MIZAN TEPI UNIVERSITY,ETHIOPIA
•This cross sectional study was conducted at Mizan–TepiUniversity using 396 nursing
students.
The academic performance was strongly correlated with practice performance of the 2015
and 2017 batches of regular students.Thelinear regression analysis also showed that
academic performance explained 26.5% to 41.2% of the variability in the practice
performance of summer students
