3. TITLE PAGE The candidate was able to provide the necessary details on the title page. Yet signatures of supervisors were not appended on the title page. He was awarded 8/10

4. DECLARATION He was able to state that this particular thesis was not submitted anywhere before according to how the UMaT thesis guide stipulated. Signature of candidate was not appended Date of submission was also not indicated. Hence, he was awarded 8/10

5. ABSTRACT The candidate was able to state the objectives of thesis clearly. He stated the research methods and the procedures employed. Major results and conclusions were stated Unfortunately, the words in the abstract exceeded 250. He was awarded 7/10

6. DEDICATION He provided a dedication, typed centrally according to the UMaT standard. The candidate was awarded 10/10

7. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT He acknowledged all the people and institution that made his dream of completing with MSc Minerals Eng. come through. 10/10 was awarded to him.

8. TABLE OF CONTENTS The contents were given on separate sheets and it followed the structure of the UMaT thesis guide. The contents contained three levels of heading with their corresponding pages. He was awarded 10/10

9. LIST OF FIGURES A list of figures was shown was their corresponding pages. It was presented after the table of contents and before list of tables on a new page. He was awarded 10/10

10. LIST OF TABLES A list of tables used in the thesis report was provided after the list of figures on a new page. The candidate was awarded with 10/10

11. CHAPTER1, INTRODUCTION In this chapter, the candidate was able to present statement of problem and objectives clearly. Unfortunately, he rather used the topic ‘Methods to be Used’, instead of ‘Methods Used’ He also stated in his report, ‘Facilities Required’, instead of ‘Facilities Used or Facilities Employed’ He was graded with 8 on a scale of 10

12. CHAPTER 2, LITERATURE REVIEW The candidates presented on the keywords in relation to his topic with the correct form of referencing. He was graded with 10 on a scale of 10

13. CHAPTER THREE, EXPERIMENTAL WORK The source of data, procedure used was stated. It was done on a separate page. He was graded 10 on a scale of 10

14. CHAPTER 4, RESULTS AND DISCUSSIONS The candidate was able to discuss his results using relevant tables and figures. The tables and figures used were all labeled. He was awarded 10, on a scale of 10

15. CHAPTER 5, CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS The conclusion of the whole research was made in a summarized form. Some recommendations were made. He was awarded 10 on a scale of 10

16. REFERENCES The Harvard system of referencing was used. He was awarded with 10 on a scale of 10

17. GENERAL OVERVIEW The candidate did a thorough research, he was however awarded 90% by group 4. He did his research work as though, he were an MPhil or PHD student. He has motivated members of the group with his good report.
