residency by investment offers foreign entrepreneurs and investors a practical pathway to live, work, and eventually obtain permanent residency or citizenship in Lithuania and other European countries. This process typically involves investing in a business, real estate, or government-approved venture.
In Lithuania, investors can either establish a new company, invest in a startup, or acquire an existing business that contributes to the local economy. The step-by-step process generally includes choosing the investment option, registering a company, opening a bank account, fulfilling minimum capital requirements, obtaining the necessary business licenses, and submitting a Temporary Residency Permit (TRP) application.
Once granted, investors can reside in Lithuania with full access to the Schengen Area. After maintaining legal residence and meeting other conditions (such as continuous stay and language requirements), investors may qualify for Permanent Residency or even Citizenship. Similar structured pathways are available across Europe, each with specific financial thresholds and residency obligations.

KEY BENEFITS
Lithuania is part of the Schengen Area, allowing you to travel freely across 27 European
countries without border checks. This makes short-term business trips, tourism, or
family visits across Europe much easier. It also enhances mobility for work or education
within the region.
Lithuanian passport holders enjoy visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 181 countries.
This simplifies international travel, especially for business, tourism, or emergencies. It
reduces the time, cost, and paperwork associated with visa applications.
Lithuania’s passport is ranked 12th globally for travel freedom, reflecting its
international reputation and strong diplomatic ties. This ranking ensures greater
global mobility and access to more destinations. It also signals trust and cooperation
between Lithuania and other nations.
After legally residing in Lithuania for 3–5 years, you can apply for permanent residency.
This provides long-term stability, fewer renewal requirements, and stronger rights. It’s
a pathway to citizenship and deeper integration into Lithuanian society.
Lithuania offers universal healthcare, including access to essential medicines at no
cost or subsidized rates. Residents and citizens can receive treatment through the
national health insurance system. This ensures financial protection during illness and
promotes long-term well-being.
Being a Lithuanian resident or citizen grants you full rights to live, work, and study in
any EU country. You can access EU social security systems, healthcare, and job
markets. It also opens the door to EU-funded scholarships, grants, and business
opportunities.
