MAIN THINGS DONE IN SUMMARY TRAINING TESTING 1) SLUMP TEST 2) SLIT TEST 3) BULK DENSITY WORKING OF A RMC PLANT DESIGN MIX OF CONCRETE
EQUPIMENTS OF MOST IMPORTANT TESTS
TOTAL TEST DONE Sieve analysis Air entrainment meter Consistency (normal, initial and final)- not done Fly ash content Specfic gravity of fine & coarse aggregates Aggregate impact test Speedy moisture test Flakiness and elongation

Pouring of concrte in pump at site
Design mix by IS 10262 and 456 Step 1: f m=f ck+ 1.65σ. Step 2 : selection of w/c from curves . Step 3: Estimate water content & sand contents for concrete grades up to M35 up M35/ above M35 w/c curve Steps of design
Step 3 adjustment in water and sand content Condition Adjustment Sand zone 1,3 and 4 (for 2 no change) No change in water content but sand -1.5% for zone 3, 1.5 % for zone 1 -3% for zone 4 Increase / decrease of Compaction factor by 0.1 Water content increased by +_ 3% No change in sand w/c ratio increased or decreased by 0.05 No change in water content but +_ 1% in sand content For round aggregates -15kg/m3 for water and -7% for sand
PROBLEMS EXPERIENCED Some sites are just too far away. Generation of road traffic. Concrete's limited time span between mixing and going-off means that ready-mix should be placed within 10 minutes of batching at the plant. Slump loss is also a major issue in RMC which result in a loss to company as the buyer tends to reject the product.
