FUN WITH ROBOTS! Hello !! I am a Robot. Are you a Robot too? Presented by Ananya Chakraborty
Introduction to Robots What Robots Can Do ? Introduction to Robotics What is Robotics? Robotics in Everyday Life Classification of Robots Robot Locomotion Types of Locomotion CONTENTS
INTRODUCTION TO ROBOTS A Robots are machines that can do tasks on their own. They can be programmed to follow instructions. A robot is a programmable machine capable of carrying out complex tasks automatically. It can be guided by an external control device or the control may be embedded within. Some robots look like humans, while others look like machines.
What Robots Can Do Cool Things Robots Can Do Robots can walk, talk, and even dance! They can help clean houses or build cars in factories. Some robots can even explore outer space! Robots are used in various fields such as manufacturing, healthcare, space exploration, and entertainment.
Where did the term “Robot” come from?? The word “Robot” was coined by the Czech playwright Karel Capek. It is the Czech word meaning “ forced labour ”
ROBOT VS HUMAN ROBOT HUMAN Skeleton: Made of bones that provide structure and support. Muscles: Made of tissues that contract to move the body. Nervous System: Uses the brain and nerves to send signals and control movement. Skin: Protects the body and contains sensors for touch, temperature, and pain. Frame/Chassis: Made of materials like metal or plastic, providing structure and support. Motors/Actuators: Serve as muscles, moving parts of the robot. Control System: Uses computers and electronics to send signals and control movement. Sensors: Detect the environment, including touch, light, and temperature.
ROBOTICS
WHAT IS ROBOTICS Robotics is the science of designing and building robots. It combines engineering, electronics, and computer science.
WHAT NAMES ARE GIVEN TO THE PEOPLE WHO WORK WITH ROBOTS ?
ROBOTICISTS .
ROBOTICS IN EVERYDAY LIFE Robots are everywhere! They help us in many ways. Examples: i. robotic vacuum cleaners, ii. robotic toys, iii. smart assistants such as Alexa, iv. robot dogs or cats for pets, v. cooking robots
5 CLASSIFICATION OF ROBOTS 1 2 3 4 General-Purpose Autonomous Robots Mobile Robots Industrial Robots Service Robots Education Robots
Mobile robots can move around on their own. They use wheels, tracks, or legs to get around. Example: Drones and rovers. . Discussion General-Purpose Autonomous Robots Mobile Robotsn Service Robots These robots can do many tasks without human help. Example: Autonomous cars. Service robots help people with everyday tasks. They can deliver food, clean floors, or even be used in hospitals. Example: Robot waiters. Education Robots These robots are used to help kids learn. They make learning fun and interactive. Example: Coding robots for kids.
LOCOMOTION Robots can move on wheels, legs, or even fly! Each type of movement has its own advantages.
TYPES OF LOCOMOTION 1 Wheeled Robots 2 Legged Robots Flying Robots Underwater Robots Robots in Space 3 4 5
SUMMARY
What Did We Learn? Robots can do amazing things and help us in many ways. We learned about different types of robots and how they move. Robotics is a fun and exciting field!
