Implementation Guideline What is expected from mentors and facilitators: ■ Being confident, committed, and motivated for change. ■ Acting as a positive influence on the group and as a good listener. ■ Being comfortable discussing topics such as gender equality, women’s rights, youth rights, sexual and reproductive health, and sexuality, and engaging participants in open, honest, and non-judgmental discussions about gender norms. ■ Being skilful in communication and cultivating strong relationships with community members. aff .
■ Exemplifying positive masculinity, serving as a respected role model and committing to supporting the empowerment of women and girls. The following are the tasks of mentors and facilitators: ■ Take consecutive trainings and attending review meetings as per the project implementor’s call. ■ Organise group members before every session .
■ Get well-prepared before every session. ■ Lead each session discussion. ■ Keep attendance in every session. ■ Trace defaulter precisely. ■ Assess and monitor ECM, FGM, and GBV cases and, if encountered, immediately. immediately link the cases to the responsible body, such as the kebele structure/anti-harmful traditional practices (HTP) committee.
■ Link adolescents who have contraceptive needs with health facilities. ■ Fill out the implementation monitoring tools annexed below and put them in the kebele office so that woreda officials can collect them. ■ Invite the HEW or HTP committee as per the manual’s guidance.
