Sabarimala is one of the most popular pilgrimage centre in
South India . Located in the Western Ghats in Pathanamthitta
district of Kerala .
The temple is open for worship for
only three months in the year –
November, December, and January.
In other months, it is open for five
days.

How to reach Sabarimala by Air............
Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, and
Nedumbassery are the major airports
in Kerala. All these places are well
connected with Sabarimala by other
modes of transportation like
road,train.
Pilgrims coming from the South of Kerala, journey via Adoor is
the easiest

Similarly Pilgrims from the north have to travel through
Kottayam district.
Pilgrims coming from Cochin and Thiruvananthapuram airports
will have to travel about the distance of 160 km and 170 km to
reach Sabarimala.
Pilgrims coming from the major airports in Tamil Nadu namely
Madurai and Coimbatore, It is about 315 km and 250 km by
road to reach Sabarimala.

How to reach Sabarimala by Train......
No direct railway station in
Sabarimala.Chengannur is the
nearest railway station,which is 90
km away from Sabarimala.
It is the easy routes for people from Alappuzha, Kollam, and
Pathanamthitta.

For pilgrims from Thiruvananthapuram : You can take
Thiruvalla or Chengannur journey by road to reach Sabarimala.
Alternate routes for people who are not able to reach
Chengannur by train:Reach Alappuzha by train and reach
Changanassery or Erumely by road. Or reach Kayamkulam by
train and proceed via Adoor to Pathanamthitta district.

How to reach Sabarimala by road......
This mode of transportation is
using a majority of Sabarimala
pilgrims.As the reason of this
itself, There are very efficient
bus and travel services
available for pilgrims.
Devotees coming from Mangalore or Mysore, you can reach
Thrissur which is in the central part of Kerala.Then take
Muvattupuzha, Kottayam route to Sabarimala.

Devotees from the Southern parts of Tamil like Nagercoil
can reach through Thiruvananthapuram-Kottarakara-
Adoor.
Pilgrims coming from Andhra Pradesh,and Tamilnadu can
reach Thrissur via Guddalore or Coimbatore.
Total distance from Nagercoil to Sabarimala is 250 km

Total distance from Ernakulam to Sabarimala is 165 km.
From Sabarimala can reach through Vaikom- Kottayam-
Kanjirapally- Erumeli route to Sabarimala.
From Alappuzha, Sabarimala is 125 km
From Alappuzha,take the route of Thiruvalla-Kozhencherry-
Pathanamthitta-Sabarimala
