Class: Narrow spectrum penicillin
Indications: infections caused by penicillin sensitive organism: bacterial pneumonia, upper respiratorytract infections, equine strangles, black
leg, infected wounds, urinary tract infections (at high doses).
Antagonists: Tetracyclines, Chloramphenicol and paromomycin
Precaution: Use with caution in animals with allergies to penicillin

Class: Fluoroquinolones
Indications: Bacterial skin and soft tissue infections, respiratory infection & cystitis. In cattle, used for treatment of bovine respiratory disease.
Adverse side effects: include the formation of lesions in the join articular cartilage during rapid growth phases of dogs. Fluoroquinolones are
associated with CNS stimulation, and should be usedwith caution in patients with known or suspected CNS disorders.

Adverse side effects: Causes renal problems when administered at high doses, can affect bone and teeth formation (cause straining of teeth) in
young animals, should NEVERbe given to horses INTRAVENOUSLY; may cause drug fever in cats, and some hepatotoxicity may occur.
