In riverside construction, the
plinth refers to the elevated
foundation upon which a
structure sits. This elevation is
crucial for mitigating moisture
issues. Due to the prevalence
of mud in these environments,
a higher plinth level becomes
necessary to safeguard the
building from flooding and
water damage.

A tin shade house typically has
a metal frame constructed
from poles or beams. This
frame supports a roof made of
corrugated metal sheets, also
known as tin. The sides of the
structure can be left open for
ventilation, or enclosed with
shade cloth or additional tin
panels for more protection
from the elements.
Infrastructure
The envelope of a tin shade
house is defined by its exterior
surfaces. Imagine a box made of
tin sheets –that box shape
outlines the shaded area.
Vertical tin panels create the
sides, while a slanted tin roof
shields the top. This design
allows air circulation through
gaps or open eaves, providing
shade without completely
enclosing the space.

Roof
The shade house
utilizes a corrugated
metal roof for superior
sun protection. The
angled panels maximize
rainwater runoff, while
the durable tin material
ensures longevity in
harsh outdoor
environments.
