College Life

But there’s one factor that influences all that, whether positively or negatively.
It’s Mental Health
5

Mental Health
6

Mental Health defines the state of one’s mind and the ability to handle stress,
emotions, make choices and function effectively in daily life.
7

The Problem
8

University/College students are among
the most profoundly affected by mental
health disorders such as depression and
anxiety. Every year, millions of students
silently struggle with these conditions,
with many either afraid or hesitant to
seek help. Tragically, in some cases,
these disorders lead to dire
consequences.

Current college level infrastructure to deal with
Mental Health issues of students
Counselling Services
Professionals create a
safe space for students to
express and heal,
fostering support and
guidance.
Awareness Programs
Events like workshops
and guest speakers aim
to destigmatize mental
health and promote help
seeking among
students.
Support Groups
These groups provide
students with the
opportunity to connect
with peers who may be
going through similar
challenges.
Crisis Intervention Services
Services like hotlines,
crisis centers and
immediate support
provide crucial help to
students in acute
mental distress.
14

The Problem Statement
Despite the increasing prevalence of mental health issues among
the college students globally, our college lacks a mental health
counsellor that other colleges provide. Lack of support for
students’ mental health perpetuates stigma and hinders
academic success and well-being.

A Possible Solution
