It provides the necessary tools and workflow to design and build great products.

Module 1.2 Advantages of AutoCAD Advantages of AutoCAD The following are the top 12 advantages : Accurate and Reduces Errors –  The principle on which AutoCAD works is a dynamic engineering model. This model blends design and production drafting together which allows the changes to be made to any part of the design at any point in time in the entire project. This results in error reduction and fewer chances of mistakes. Furthermore, the designs which are made digitally always have room for enhancements and improvement. Save Time & Money –  With a specific and user-friendly interface and workflow, AutoCAD works speedily which saves the time of the designer. AutoCAD supports documentation tools that not only increase productivity but also help the designers and architects to streamline the designs and documentation workflows. It also provides solutions to implement modifications in the projects, thus reducing the time taken. It is an efficient program that undertakes the work process of the designer and helps in saving time and money and reducing errors. Easier Data Transfer –  Using AutoCAD in Architect Designing has made it easier to share files with multiple people simultaneously. It is not easy to work on heavy files and then share them without any data loss. But, this software has made it easy to upload the designed data on the internet and sharing it with numerous other designers.

Module 1.2 Advantages of AutoCAD Advantages of AutoCAD The following are the top 12 advantages : Controllable in nature –  This advantage of AutoCAD supports the scanning feature for the data. This technique helps in measuring the quantity of the materials used. It also helps in calculating the exact cost of the products. Eventually, it helps in managing production and post-production processes. Module 1.3 Layout in AutoCAD

Module 1.3 Layout in AutoCAD Intended Learning Outcomes By the end of the topic, students will be able to:          create new drawing; and create layout in AutoCAD. Expectation on the Topic Familiarize with AutoCAD drawing and layout.

Module 1.3 Layout in AutoCAD What is Layout in AutoCAD? In AutoCAD, the user is accessible to create a drawing using two types of’ spaces. The model space and layout space. The model space consists of the 3D dimensional objects created by the user. To view it in 2D dimensional structure, the user will have to use the Layout tab.  This layout tab can be used to see different 2d views of the 3d object created by the user in the model space. Also, the user can add as many numbers of views to the layout and modify the size of the sheet as well. The layout space is also known as paper space and is generally used to specify the minor details of the model created. A layout can never be 3d dimensional, as it is only referred to as a paper that shows and edits various elements of the model as per the requirement of the user. In the beginning, the user starts to work on the model space that is the 3D space to draw objects. Slowly to gain a much bigger and proper perspective, we use the Layout tab from the menu. To create drawings and blueprints for printing purposes, we use the layout tab itself.   The layout tab has the ability to modify the size of the model that is relative to the layout mode. In the layout panel, one unit of the sheet is taken as the real distance on the sheet. This unit is counted and measured in millimeters or inches. Some of the important commands used in AutoCAD to create Layouts are PLOT, VPORTS, LAYOUT, MODEL, VPMIN, PAGESETUP and more.
