This samiti was founded on 6 February at tilak Smarak mandir located in pune.this samiti declared Shripad amrit dange as their president .
Samyukta samiti On the formation of this samiti, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Keshavrao Jedhe at Tilak Smarak Mandir at Pune declaring Shripad amrit dange as their president.The executive are as follows

martyrs During this agitation,106 people died in the open firing .IN memory of these 106 martyrs the ‘ Hutatma Smarak’ was erected in Mumbai near Flora Mountain

Unveiling the statue of Shivaji maharaj On 30 November 1957, Pandit Jawaharlal nehru was to unveil the statue of the great Chhatrapati Shivaji maharaj at Pratapgad . Contribution of marathi newspapers In this movement , newspapers like Kesari , Prabhodhan , Sakal , Navakal worked for awakening the people. Acharya Atre started the ‘Maratha’ newspaper which played an important role in Samyukta Maharashtra Movement. Balasaheb Thackeray took up the pen name ‘Malva’ and drew caricatures to make the movement comprehensive. People like Lokshahir Annabhau Sathe, Shahir Amar Sheikh and Shahin D.N.Gavankar through their writings aroused public awakening on a large scale.
1 st May 1960 On 1 st May 1960 Mumbai was completely dissolved with Maharashtra and the state of Maharashtra was formed. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru announced the formation of Maharashtra State. Yashwantrao Chavan was elected as the first CM of Maharashtra . Hence we celebrate this day as Maharashtra divas or Maharashtra day.
