BIOGRAPHY Sanjay Puri is one of the leading architects in India; he has inspired thousands of students and upcoming architects with his work, passion, and love for this field. Day by day, his popularity is increasing among the students. He is the  founder and Principal Architect at “Sanjay Puri Architects” , which has won numerous awards and recognition around the world for its innovative ideas and  sustainable design . Sanjay Puri was born in 20 April 1965 (age 57 years) in Rajasthan, India. He is He belonged to a family of doctors.  He completed his schooling at Mayo College in Ajmer, India. Then he joined Junior College for further studies at St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai, India.  His family always supported his decisions and encouraged him to follow them . After completing his schooling,  he joined Hafeez Contractor for a summer internship program , even before he entered architecture college. Located in a small plot of 500 sq.m . within an enclave of small buildings and houses, the Origami House is designed in response to its context . The required open spaces to be left on all sides of this plot allowed a maximum area of 250 sq.m . at a level. The extensive requirements of the client necessitated the house to be a vertical block with 4 upper levels and a basement. This orientation simultaneously ensures that all rooms derive indirect northern light allowing them to remain cool during the extensive summer months of the city’s location. ORIGAMI HOUSE, PUNE, MAHARASHTRA The house is expressed as a single sculpted volume externally with subtracted volumes within forming the semi enclosed spaces that punctuate the building form. A large open stairwell sky lit at the terrace level allows natural light to infuse the internal circulation spaces at each level . Height- 24m Total level- 8  first three levels occupying public spaces  four levels  occupying hotel rooms a rooftop lounge bar on the topmost floor Chrome Hotel, Kolkata, West Bengal Situated amidst commercial buildings on two sides and a residential area at the rear, this hotel posed a challenging project. Sanjay Puri’s design for the Chrome Hotel stands out with its distinctive form and thoughtful integration into the urban context . UNIQUENESS AND EXPERIMENTATION The Crescent, Surat, Gujarat Chapel at Murcia, Spain The Crescent showcases Sanjay Puri’s ability to create dynamic spaces that defy convention. Its unique geometry and play of light make it an architectural marvel . This shape of the building is totally dependent on climate in Surat. Material used steel , glass and brick. UNIQUENESS AND EXPERIMENTATION Ishatvam 9, Ranchi, Jharkhand Area:  80000  m² Piazza at Queen’s Beach, Montenegro Ishatvam 9 is a residential project that pushes boundaries. The design experiments with spatial volumes, creating an engaging living experience . the apartments have been designed to occupy a complete floor opening out on all sides with each room extending into twenty feet high, double height decks . 20% open area as extensions to the internal spaces, maximizing on natural light and air with cross ventilation to every room in the house, creating an urban high rise tower  This project demonstrates Sanjay Puri’s ability to create vibrant public spaces. The piazza combines art, architecture, and functionality, inviting people to gather and interact . Urban master plan. Two old towns have an organic layout with narrow spaces opening into larger piazza spaces in various parts . The entire layout of this hotel is organic with small room blocks along the existing contours & a large piazza with the public facilities of the hotel overlooking the sea . SCULPTURAL AND ABSTRACT Zen Spaces, Jaipur, Rajasthan Area:  27000  ft² This  27,000 sqft residence  spans four levels and seamlessly integrates living, lounge, dining, outdoor, and circulation spaces . Illuminated at night, the house transforms into a sculptural display of solid and perforated volumes  Every part of the house is naturally ventilated, with the courtyard contributing towards passive cooling . An imposing form shaped of curving volumes, screened facades, sunken courts, and indoor gardens belies the impression of a house when seen from the outside . residential house project. Designed for studio apartments, a hostel, and a guest house, it exemplifies Sanjay Puri’s commitment to innovation Three of the most vivid primary colors – red, blue, and yellow - highlight the cantilevered balconies of each room, creating an identity and simultaneously enhancing the sculptural look of the buildings . SCULPTURAL AND ABSTRACT 72 Screens, Jaipur, India Bombay Arts Society, Mumbai A  1300m² mixed-use building  containing an office and an art gallery . Its iconic wavy design accommodates multiple functions within limited space, showcasing Sanjay Puri’s ability to merge art and architecture Fluid forms enmeshed together in parts emerging from each other in parts constitute this small building .  The fluidity of form seen externally, with a concrete skin encapsulating spaces while undulating in both the horizontal and vertical planes, is carried through to the interior volumes making the entire experience as that of moving through a sculpture . Enveloped in  abstractly folded planes of perforated screens , this  6-level office building  creates a striking sculptural presence . Located in Jaipur’s desert climate, it stands out with its unique form and play of light The concrete screens around the building are supported by a steel framework with projections that vary from 0.9 to 1.5m . SUSTAINABILITY AND ENERGY EFFICIENCY Studios 45, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh Nirvana 63 Sports Complex, Jabalpur, India Situated on a small plot of  5000 sqm , Studios 45 is a  low-rise building  designed for future housing needs. The ground level houses common amenities like a gym, café, and a theatre room. The  45 studios  are distributed across three upper levels, with open courtyard spaces facilitating  natural ventilation and passive cooling . Terracotta clay tiles, made in South India, form ventilated screens along circulation spaces, reducing heat gain and promoting air movement . The use of local bricks, clay tiles, and local contractual labor contributes to an economical and sustainable design This sports complex includes an Olympic-sized swimming pool, tennis courts, basketball courts, squash courts, and other indoor games. The entire building is realized in  concrete and locally-sourced sandstone . GLOBAL REACH Mirai House of Arches The Rajasthan School Located in an undisclosed location, the Mirai House of Arches is described as a  contextual house . It draws inspiration from its surroundings and employs  passive and sustainable design principles .  The design features steep arches and a curvilinear silhouette, creating a distinctive form that responds to the Indian climate curvilinear punctuated envelope surrounds the  house , creating interstitial, semi-open spaces all along the perimeter, with deeper recesses on the garden-facing sides.   the house was built using locally sourced bricks, sandstone, and lime plaster, and includes processes for water recycling, rainwater harvesting, and solar panels for energy generation. The house is built sustainably and is climate responsive. Another notable project by Sanjay Puri Architects, The Rajasthan School, showcases their innovative approach to educational architecture. The design balances functionality, aesthetics, and sustainability to enhance the learning environment .
