let's explore Name two scientist and write what you know about them and their contribution to Science. NAME of SCIENTIST CONTRIBUTIONS

The word Science came from the Latin word scientia, which means, “having knowledge'. Lets talk about it!

MISSION Among the scientist who conributed a lot to science is Plato and Aristotle. Plato beleived that the highest human faculty is reason and Aristotle agreed to this. Aristotle practiced detailed observation ans dissection of plants and animals to further understand the natural world.

MISSION Galileo , credited as the father of Scientific Method, work through experiments to validate his ideas. The vital purpose of doing and learning science is to explain daily phenomena and derive models of reality.

-was an astronomer who provided that the Sun, and not the Earth, is at the center of the universe. His astronomical model was called heliocentrism . Nicolaus copernicus ( 1473-1543)

He is an English scientist who used term "cells” to describe the compartment of cork cells. robert hooke ( 1635-1703 )

He is an English physicist and mathematician who laid the foundations for classical mechanics-explaining tha Law of Gravity and the Law of Motion sir isaac newton ( 1642- 1726 )

He created one of the first modern telescopes. His work " Two New sciences ” laid the ground work for science of Kinetics and strength of materials. On January 7, 1610, he discovered the 4 moons of Jupiter using a homemade telesscope. galileo galilei ( 1564- 1642 )

He was an English naturalist who became famous for his work on the theory of evolution. Charles darwin ( 1809- 1882 )

He contributed greatly towards the advancement of medical sciences developing vaccines for rabies , anthrax, and other infectious diseases . He also enabled the process os pasteurization to make milk safer to drink. Louis pasteur ( 1822- 1895)

marie curie ( 1867- 1934) She is a polish scientist and chemist who discoverd radiation and helped to apply it in the field of X-ray . She won the noble prize in both Chemistry and Physics in 1911.

albert einstein ( 1979- 1955 ) He was a German born theoretical physicist who developed the general theory of relativity, which is one of the two pillars of modern physics, alongside quantum mechanics.

stephen william hawking ( 1942- 2018 He was regarded as one of the brilliant theoretical physicist in history. A brief history of Time “to help non-scientist understand fundamental questions of physicist and our existence.

Edward quisumbing (1895- 1986 ) He was a Filipino biologist who is known for his expertise in medical plants of the Philippines. He contributed more than 129 scientific articles , mostly on orchids.

gregorio zara (1902- 1978 ) She was the first Filipina to be given the title National Scientist and the Filipina to be enrolled at the Harvard University Medical Schol . She was given credits for her contributions in the invention of an improvised incubator using bamboos in the rural areas.

arturo alcaraz ( 1916 - 2001 ) He is volcanologist who spe cialized in geothermal energy developed. In 1967, Alcaraz and his team powered an electric light bulb using steam-powered electricity. They used the power coming from a volcano near the town of Tiwi which became the first geothermal power generated in the Philippines.

Dr. fe del mundo ( 1911- 2011 ) He is renowned Filipino engineer and physicist who invented the two-way television telephone or videophone in 1955, which was patented as a "photo phone signal separator network.”

pedro escuro ( 1923 - 2000 ) He was a Filipino scientist known for his contributions in plant breeding and genetics. His work on nine varieties of rice and three improved varieties of wheat are among his notable contributions in agriculture.

dr. abelardo aguilar -is noted for his contribution in the development of erythromycin . In, 1949, He discovered a method of developing the antibiotic that is used to treat and prevent a wide range of infections by isolating a strain of bacteria using some soil samples from his backyard.

dr. rolando dela cruz -developed a non-invasive and direct application using cream to treat basal cell carcinoma which mean is the most common type of skin cancer.
